Start my new job in 6 1/2 hrs!

I gotta be up at 3-3:30 AM to get ready, and be at work at 4. Gotta unload the truck at Target! $6.75/hr, and 3-5 days per week. I won't be making my $650 checks anymore, but at least it's a job. Hooray!

I know i need to go to sleep, but it's hard when a house fulla people are awake...I just can't sleep because my mind is like "I wanna go have fun!"

I could never do a job that required me to go to bed early. I could however do the opposite, stay at the job til early morning hours and sleep late.

I do the opposite. I am a projectionist so I work till 1:30 in the morning. I go to college too, but it's easy with 10am classes. If I were still in high school I would have failed worse than I did...if that possible.

I'm willing to work hard, but not for such low wages. Doing monkey work like working at McDonalds or something at normal hours might be ok, but unloading a truck at 4 in the morning? **** that, I'd need a lot more than $6.75/hr.

Min wage here is $8/hr CAD. I wouldn't work for anything less than 10 unless it had tips. I keep hearing stories about people who can go to Calgary and wash dishes at a hotel for $15/hr. If you have some semblance of skill or education you can probably find $20/hr easy.

$20/hr isn't "easy". Many people with college degrees make less than that as their starting wage.

Tis true, and this city isn't hot on the big wages jobs opening. This is just a temp job, because dear god, it's hard, and exhausting. 6.75 REALLY doesn't seem like enough, seen as how on my first day, they had me throwing the truck...basically where you take the boxes, and put them onto the line to get scanned in. Which sucked, because I didn't know how to do it fast, and know where the scan lables were, etc etc.

Then I had to put the stuff up! D: That wasn't neer as tiring, but it took us up until after 1:30 to get done..so that was 9 hrs of work Sucks worse because I need new shoes. My feet are fubar, so I walk on the sides...well, hauling heavy items for a long period hurts the sides of my feet and big toes alot, so need new shoes

But yeah, I'm tired as all hell.

Heh, I work at staples for $7.25 an hour ($.50 over minimum wage), and the hardest thing I do is move cases of paper. Generally I work somewhere between 10-30 hours a week, sometime between 8 AM and 9 PM.

For the record, I worked for $13.20/hr during the summer 40 hours a week. It was great pay considering I've only finished my freshman year in college.

Minimum wage is $5.15 here. Or rather, Arizona has no minimum wage law, it just goes off the federal rate (5.15)
