And also, this isnt a discussion of sexual taboo; I'm fine with sex etc.. the only problem here is the insipid display of homegrown hl2 pornography that is really, really sad.
The true issue here is that some people (albeit testosterone must be a little to blame) are so desperate for an infusion of sex, that they stick alyx and kleiner together in a display that somehow arouses them! and whats more, they come here and post the pictures for all to see! as if to say "hey! I know sex! look! sex!!11one, its funny cos kleiner is having sex!! ahahah!".

We all got the joke, but noone laughed because the joke sucked.

It would be unfair to punish people without warning; the only ones that have had posts deleted and warnings applied are the ones who have broken the rules after they were cautioned about it in the thread.

Other such pictures are being removed, but the priority is ensuring that the deluge stops immediately.
You must appreciate that it takes time to go through 20+ pages of links by hand, screening everything first. Have patience.

The images are tasteless and in many cases represent rape, abuse etc.

Doesn't matter that its not arrousing and bad quality, its being posted on sites visted by the young and old alike, just because a few people don't mind it, doesn't mean the majority are cool with it.

I don't mind watching hardcore porn. But I'd have a problem with it being shown 24/7 on TV.

Your also forgetting the impressionable young, again, just cause it doesn't bother you, doesn't mean to say they wont see it as ok. Remember how easily children are to believe anything they see or hear.

Throw in the parents, well. Parent walks in, see's the kid looking at the site, site seems harmless, its a games site so it should be. Then the parent see's images of gangbangs and rape. See, the thing is censorship laws are just that, laws. There has to be an underlying reason for their existence. Refering me to some kind of law enforcement is like answering the question "why is there freedom of speech" with the answer "because the 1. amendment says so" (using america as an example).

What I really want to know is why you (or anybody else) THINK that violence isn't the same. Hell, I'll go first and tell you why I think that for the most part it's the same. The reason why I dislike porn (in general) is that I think it's degrading to women. If I would agree that HL2 porn (it's not porn, but you get the point) should be banned, I would so so because I feel it's degrading to women (or men as some pictures suggest). Exactly the same applies to a picture of a person being tortured, they're just as degrading, if not worse.

Now it's your turn to tell me why you disagree and think that violence is ok, and exactly why there is a difference.

Well I don't know where these violent pictures have been posted and i certainly wouldn't approve of what you describe when it comes to violence, but your last statement brings about the flaw in your logic. Your analogy makes it necessary to equate sex with violence, like stealing is stealing, but when it comes to non-violent sex(like the pic i saw), it seems unequivical to violence.
That being said, this is a violent game. So we're already engaging in a bit of simulated taboo if you will.
Again, I haven't been visiting the particular forum with the pics you're talking about, i'm just interested in mapping/machinima at this point(no porn=)
I can understand banning any sexual pictures on a site that young kids view. It's just that kids today love violent video games which is why they're viewing these sites.. seems ironic to me that we wish to protect them from the non-violent sex, but again, i understand this is the society we presently live in. :upstare:
