That time has come earlier this year on Steam, the time many of us have been waiting for, the Steam sales. Each day through Monday there will be a new line-up of deals. To continue the sales for day 4:
  • 30% off - Call of Juarez: BiB & Chronicles of Riddick: AoDA
  • 75% off - Mirror's Edge, The Secret of Monkey Island: SE & Evil Genius
Also look for deeply discounted publisher packs available throughout the duration of the sale. Grab the LucasArts Premiere Pack, at 60% off, containing 16 classic hit titles like The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis. See the Early Holiday Sale page here.[br]Lastly check out this interview with Jason Holtman about the success of Steam and how Steam can support these sales.[br]Updated Friday 27th.

Dragon Age at 37 dollars sounds pretty tempting to me.

Hope the deals at Christmas are just as awesome as last year. Good way to break us into it! Interesting interview aswell.

Looking at the THQ pack, $400 dollars of games for $50, although I have some of them its quite tempting.

I was just telling myself that I won't be buying any more games for a few months. :(

I hope this is like this till the end of the year too.

Let me get this straight..18 games for 50 bucks?

Incredibly tempted to get the THQ pack but I have most of those games already.

Oh man, I hope they do a sale for L4D2.

Very tempting indeed.

Yeah, a L4D2 sale would be nice. I don't feel like joining the mobs on Friday even though Gamespot will be having it on sale for $29.99.

I couldn't resist. I got the THQ pack even though i own a couple of the games. It's still a great deal.

I hate steam. Just bought Dragon Age: Origins special edition for £30.

hatehatehatehatehatehate.

Now I just need 20gb HDD space.

Hmm so will Dragon Age not have another price slash before the holidays on Steam?

Damn, its early but I just might get it...

Borderlands was on sale at Amazon for a mere £17 delivered at the start of the week (I bagged a copy). Sadly it's now gone back up to £24 again :( Could have been a potential misprice, but the order was honoured and my package arrived today.

Why did the special sales had to start earlier!?
I sooo wanted to buy the Dragon Age origins special edition and the Lucas Arts pack but my wallet is empty and I don't get any money until next week..

As people say: FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!

GRID for 75% off is an excellent deal. Definitely worth it.

I bought Dragon Age.

But that THQ pack is hugely tempting. Just Red Faction alone for £26 would be brilliant, but alongside those other games is almost too good to pass up. But then I already have STALKER and Saints Row 2. And Frontlines or Dawn of War aren't that great, despite being hyped for them once upon a time.

Oh good. I managed to convince myself not to buy it! :D

Waiting for Borderlands now too.

I got GRID. I was eyeing it up back when it was first released and it's been ages since I've got my teeth into a good racing game, so 5 euros for it now felt too good to pass up. Certainly an easier pill to swallow than 37 euros for Dragon Age.

wish I had the money for Far Cry 2, guess I'll have to wait till Christmas sales!

I just spent $60, Allah help me, it's only the first week.

I got Grid. Bought a copy for myself and a copy for my old man. Couldn't resist at that price. Need a steering wheel now!

I like the looks of the THQ pack. Can't really afford it though. Maybe I can split it with my brother.

I guess now I shall buy KOTOR and finish it since it is only $2.49

The new batch is completely uninteresting.
L4D2 still isn't low enough for me to want to buy it, hopefully they bring it down even lower(atleast $20) at some point in the near future.

Not sure when, but yeah, there will be a low sale eventually within the next 6-8 months I'm sure.

I don't recall L4D having that many bargain prices though, not nearly as much as TF2.

I've heard it's good, and I agree, the price is right.

lol Those who pre ordered the game are now raging because of the prize reduction of L4D2. Hilarious!

Steam Forums are really hilarious. The people over there never cease to amaze me.

I do sympathize with the sentiment.

As easy as it should be, I always find myself hesitating to buy something on Steam because I'm wary of of the schizophrenic sale pricing. I would be kind of annoyed to buy a game only to have its cost slashed within the next few days. Retail's pretty predictable in comparison.

Of course, pre-ordering got you early demo access and the opportunity to play at launch. So.... meh.

Plus two in-game items.

Prices always drop during the holiday season. It's common sense.
And if there's anything i learned from the previous game, is not to get caught up in the hype and impulse buy it immediately at its full price.

You guys in this thread already know, but I've updated the news post with the new deals today including Dead Space, L4D2 and KOTOR.

Dead Space is a great game actually, a big title going for £7.50. Not bad at all.

So basically it's a pint of Strongbow, or KOTOR.

Sometimes I love Steam. I really do.
