Steam is dipping.....suprise update coming?

I've been wondering all week weather or not VALVe is going to release a nice surprise update for us, in regards to the holidays.

Yes, there's nothing official and this is mere speculation, but here's hoping.

I doubt it: when Valve staff confirmed recently that they were going to offer DOD:S for an extra charge to people with Bronze and Retail packages, they also stressed that they didn't know details on pricing or the release date. I think we'll still be waiting for this one for a while.

Next big update I reckon, will be Melee in HL2M, followed by new content for CS:S

Every time a dip on that lines occurs, it usually means there's an update coming.

So far, it's been correct all the time.

They always release major content right before going on holidays so there is no staff to deal with problems. It's common practice. Even though everyone is free to spend more time online thereby stressing steam..

Don't forget the fact that it takes 10 years to load.

Funny, I remember times where I could just double click on a friggin icon on my desktop to load Hammer. Now I have to log into steam, load up the source SDK, and then start Hammer, each taking about twice the load time of the original hammer!!!! HOORAH FOR THAT! MERRY F*CKING CHRISTMAS!!!!
