Steam status page showing some good signs

Yesterday, some people were having problems getting the 4th preload and I remember Taylor Sherman saying that a fix that should have, well, fixed their problem, wasn't actually applied.

Perhaps it is that.

But I can't even get the 4th preload phase to show up on steam. It's just the old 3rd phase complete. I've restarted Steam at least 6 times.

But I can't even get the 4th preload phase to show up on steam. It's just the old 3rd phase complete. I've restarted Steam at least 6 times.

Have you tried deleting your ClientRegistry.blob file?

Shutdown Steam, delete ClientRegistry.blob, restart Steam.

When you check your HL2 preload status (right click on HL2 in the Coming Soon section in the games list), what percentage are you at?

Edit: If you have CS:S then you won't get the 4th preload as it would duplicate the material updated in the previous CS:S update.

OOOOOOOOH I think I know what happened...When I opened up Steam it automatically starts the preload, then it must be done and I didn't even know it. I totally forgot it automatically starts. Thanks. Oh, and yes I have CSS. Or it did what you said in your previous edited post.
