Stop The Harrassment..NOW!

See this is the thing people should do if they are harrassed, block the person doing it, we do have ignore features for that and many other reasons. *just noting*

regardless of what u personally think of this situation, when a member is warned to stop a certain behaviour and said member continues that behaviour.. then obviously a ban is neccessary.

now i am not 100% sure, Ritz would have to tell u herself, but i believe she felt she was being harrassed and reported it.
that is not for u to dispute because forum members aren't the ones making the rules and staff have the descretion to do whatever within the guidlines they have been given..

Umm, no , before you complain to me, learn to spell and learn what happened first.

It has been one weird night really, a lot of people got banned/ warned, I don't think any thread had so much comotion as this one.

DeathSeeker basicly got a thread on 30 pages just in a day BECAUSE people (guys :p ) thought he was a girl, some people here need to see girls/women as normal beings and not some creature that needs massive amounts of attention (attention bordering on herrasment)

On another note (sorry to speak so directly to 1 person) Ritz you could have been more rejecting when that pokemon guy was making those come ons. I know it evolved to such a nature where it was kind of.... eh, sick-stalker'ish and i don't think you should have to deal with such things but you should have told him to back off from the start when you felt like that.....

I don't understand why the threads and all of DeathSeeker's posts were deleted. It is as if you think we can't handle the truth, or something. Why don't you just leave them but lock them, so that people can look back to see what happened?

It was all a bunch of fun anyway. :p

I'm glad Aileviation was banned, he certainly deserved it.
I can't believe people act like this because of something so pathetic as a girl posting pictures of herself. What the heck is going on with us?

I have to agree in the debate that these forums are worse than ever, they've really dropped it and it seems to have happened in a very short amount of time.
The problem is, it's a natural phase, the forums are becoming faceless, more and more problems and offenses and all that, many people are rude and negative towards pretty much everything but themselves.

Well, I'm pretty sure a dozen people will reply to this with "Well, leave then!". Don't worry, I already have, I just think it's sad that this forum has come to this, I used to really love coming on here and being with all these magnificent persons.
 
Like I said in another thread.. it's hard to stay away. ;(

I ignored him and reported him to a mod. Thats what your ment to do. If anyone here is angry at me for getting him banned, hit me with all you got, I personally dont care.
 
Guy's leave her alone, Ritz handled things properly like I wish some of you would do more often. He was asking for it and pushed his luck and kept pushing it after being told time and time again to quit. I back Icarus' choice to ban him.

Meh, a few people are playing the "omg special treatment because they're girls" card but the fact is repeated "harassment" online is pretty lame regardless of situation or gender; although Icarus's belated ban may have attracted unwanted attention it's certainly a very clear signal.

Now for the real controversy - had these forumgoers been men, would their flamers/harassers/abusers been banned?

Well, yeah. Thing is, that particular kind of harassment wouldn't have happened had they been male, that's the sad part. General rule is no matter how innocent or playful you see something to be, stop when you're told to stop.

Heheh... remember this one woman online- guy hit on her, turned out she was dating an admin... heheheh. Ahem. Oh, and this other guy who had a blonde French student as his avatar but was in fact a 17-year old Dutch kid who seemed to enjoy fooling people in rather unpleasant ways... the Internet is a crazy place.

Before coming in and commenting, have the smallest clue what this thread is about please. It has nothing to do with deathseeker who posted as "jen" with the pictures.

The person that posted those pictures was actually a guy looking to cause trouble.

As I understand it other girl members were harrased as well....


Now can we just let this thread die.... its really not all that interesting anymore..... :sleep:

uhh.. it wasnt a female who posted the pics. it was a guy. and this guy stirred up so much crap that people like me ended up getting hit on from like half the forum. I didn't ask for that.

I knew giving away my gender was a bad idea, but its not like i'm going to try to fix that now, and its not like i'm going to hide from it.

So yeah, to some degree, I expect that stuff to happen to me, but the way it happened, it was depressing... i never thought guys would act like such brainless morons. you do nothing but re-enforce stereotypes i'm sure you want to avoid
 
As previously suggested many times before, there should be a link to the rules on top of the forum.

Not that little button up there..

maybe you should have read the other part of my post, saying that you dont need to even say that your a female, because i know that somewhere along the line you did or you wouldent be in the mess youre in, that was kind of the point of my post. i just used the thread as an example. youve certainly got spelling down, now lets learn some comprehension.

i think its unfair to just say revealing of the gender was the problem.
of course u have to be a girl to understand the unfairness going along with what u suggested in ur posts.

its almost as if ur saying to the girls to hide their identity just because someone else can't handle it.

Your point is valid, but the fact that people behaved the way they did because of it doesn't excuse them

its not like you can say; person x = girl, therefore I can be a complete jerk and harass this person, then make a big joke about it, and keep telling all my friends because I'm a man, and I like to pretend I know about girls.

I expect some stuff thrown at me, and, well, it happened, I cant really complain about that- my main point is that what respect I did have is quite damaged, you had a chance as a collective to show some maturity, but you thought with the wrong head, and made a big mess out of it.
