Street fighter 4 frustration

I've started winning more fights online now in ranked games, which makes me happy. Still a long way off challenging the people who can anticipate your move before you think it though .

Just got Street Fighter 4, and like most of you here, used Abel. It's kind of a rough start, I haven't played a fighting game in ages, so any tips on Abel use or general character use?

Forward medium kick will see you well - this helps keep the pressure up, which is what Abel is all about. His roll, ultra and ex wheel kick go through fireballs - this will punish careless shotos. Master the roll. Get used to rolling. Launch people with ducking fierce and wheel kick or air grab them. Tornado throw, tornado throw, tornado throw

Sweet. Definitely going to put this advice to good use, thanks Warbie!

On a somewhat related note, I can't really master the tornado throw, using the arrow keys are somewhat cumbersome. I'll definitely practice though.

Oh and if you're using an Xbox controller DO NOT use the pad, use the stick instead. This is the first time I've ever used a stick instead of a pad in a fighting game ever. The Xbox360 keypad just sucks hardcore, at least in my experience.

Been playing this non-stop since it came in the post yesterday evening - it's a great addition to the series. I've completed Arcade with Vega and Ryu on medium so far, but the comp still beats me a shameful number of times. Can't find many people with a decent connection online, but I won 1 out of 3 unranked games against a guy who was using Balrog and Sagat (I was Vega and El Fuerte). So I'm getting back into the SF groove ever so slowly...

The Hard trials are insane though. I completed all of Ryu's but it's hopeless trying to reproduce them in a match... Even some of the Normals are tough for me. Jumping HK > HP > SHO into Shinkuu Hadoken comes out most of the time in Challenge mode, but when up against a proper opponent I can't get any further than Jumping HK > HP before cracking under the pressure and mashing the pad.

In regards to the OP, easy difficulty can be pretty challenging if you don't know most of you character's specials, supers, and ultras. Also, you have to know how to use your basic normals pretty well in combination to those. Its best to start off the game as "easiest" mode, because you'll find out the challenge ramps up and when you face seth is very difficult.

I've been playing this game quite a bit since it came out. I play on the PC, so my windows live id is slammoth, and just give me a shout out if you want to have a skirmish or something.

I know I used to play regularly with some people from HLF and i'm pretty decent, so it'll be nice playing with you.
