Stuff I (or we) would like to know

I dono if this has been asked yet but with the physics system if u make some kinda wooden thing a blade or something and u put it on an engine or something and make it spin fast enough, will 1 or both of the wooden blades on the engine brake off and if it does it will make the engine destroy itself because its so unbalanced and spinning so fast? or will it tip over depending on what kinda support its on?

Does HL2 have a max entity like HL does (im a long time HL map maker 160+ maps) and i know when u reached a high enough amount of entities in a map u would get a console message saying something like max_visable_entities reached!

Will the Grunts (combine soldiers) fight everything else like the grunts do in HL? (god u gotta love those grunts there one of the main reasons i still play HL to this day, throw a grenade at them bounces off there head and all u hear is a cry for a medic LMAO.

Is it possibile to to attach a long rope to the back of a buggy and attach some kinda heavy round like object to the other end of the rope and drive around with a cool weapon swinging from side to side?

Is it possibile to turn a rope into a bunji cord and strech it to its limit and let it go and watch it slice threw some monsters or attach a bucket to it and try to hit a soldier in the head LMFAO.

Will the physics allow a rope to be wound up on a bobin or a truck winch?

Will making a fan in Hammer be the same as making 1 in WorldCraft where u had to add a function_push to make the blowing or sucking effect or will hammer be able to do this on its own basing it on the fan speed,size,etc

If possibile could Gabe or someone at Valve answer these questions Please

The engine will undoubtedly have it's limits. Otherwise, try asking Gabe directly by e-mailing him.

Hate to break it to you but Gabe was pretty well off even before he formed Valve.

If they didn't care about us then they wouldn't keep updating a six year old engine. Mabye you'd like them to turn into another EA?
 
I gotta agree Skullhair, people should stop bashing valve. Valve doesn't owe any of you anything.

Apparently they have a physical system set up to do any "rope like objects" that are attached to something at at least one point. Ropes should be doable, though I'm not sure about a rope where that reference point is moving.

Well Inkined, that's not entirely a bad thing in my opinion. At my age a decent game in virtual reality would, most likely, just trigger a debilitating coronary. Pretty sure the insurance won't cover that, hehe.

Uhhh... First of all, thats not virtual reality. And second, virtual realisty is already here.

Third, I think ALL of the ideas the thread starter posted are possible.
They don't seem too difficult.

No, it isn't that advanced to realize something moving that fast is pushing air
 
the ropes idea seems good, the demos already look great with the physics.
 
thank you vegeta, i intent to push the physics to its limits (i been making HL maps for a long time got about 160+) it took me a year to learn WorldCraft from the easy things to the most complex and with the new things in Hammer that i will have to learn i would say give me a month than i can create anything.
