Supreme Commander demo tmr!!!

correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't you several months late?
 
well, i didn sign up for the beta so i haven played it yet.
 
Hope it works, the beta was terrible. Everytime i hit something on my keyboard game froze.
 
beta != demo

this is the demo which will be singleplayer both including a bit of the cybran campaign and one skirmish map (finn's revenge) to be played against any ai
 
Will it be optimised, because the beta ran like shit for me.
 
beta ran at like 2 fps for me, i gave up after an hour of confusion

I dont know where this is coming from. Beta ran like shit on the first version for me but in the most recent update (the gold update) it runs fantastically better, unless you have 3v3 and around 500 units. I only start to see performance woes if I turn everything up or have more than 250 units on screen, and even then it doesnt get below 20 FPS until the battles get extreme. This is a major improvement from the first version of the beta, which gave me about 20 FPS for most of the game and then 3-4 FPS with anything over 100 units.
 
yeah, its been a lot more optimized since the first version

dual cores handle the game a lot better
 
I'd like to experiment with a release quality version of the game before I buy, thanks for the heads up
 
I am going to wait until it is released, don't want to spoil my apatite..even though I religiously played the demo. :O

Woot I wanna play the demo. I'm really on the fence with getting this one, so my demo impressions are gonna make it or break it for me. If I like the demo I'll order the game later today
 
I was unlucky enough to signed up to GPG forums, a fileplanet account, and have a pre-order of SupCom with GAME, and I didn't manage to scrape a single beta key :(

I'm looking forward to the modding prospects of the game

kinky, this is the one with like normal ground units, then they just keep getting bigger and bigger until you have units that can cover like the entire screen?

Sounds kind of like an advanced version of Metal Fatigue :E

It won't let me download. I have download manager 2.0, but everytime I try and press the Download Now! button, nothing happens.

Why IS THIS HAPPENING!
 
Try right clicking and copying the url into the download manager.

I have Getright, can I do segmented downloading to get it to download faster (it's hovering around 12-15K right now), or does Gamespot's servers not like it?
 
I'm downloading it off of Fileplanet now and it's just as slow, which shouldn't be the case. Hmm, strange.
 
Because of the problem with FilePlanet I'm having, I'm downloading from gamespot. Why? its going at a steamy 12.3kbs D:

btw, tried what you asked me, but its promting me to get a a subscription

[edit]found out the problem, my bloody firewall would'nt let the download manager have access to the net. Even though I told it to permit all traffic
 
I'm in queue for Fileshack too, I'll have to see how that one goes. The queue for Fileshack is quite short, 8 minutes.

EDIT: OK, that's more like it, 150 kbps

I don't think its the case of which dl manager you have, I think its the case that gamespot are trying to swindle you out of your pockets. I don't know why, the constant advertisement they have on their site is enough to pay off any debts they have with the mafia
