Supreme Commander demo tmr!!!

Have you noticed that fileplanet are trying to lure fellow downloaders with their erotic imagery ;)

Its an estimated 2hrs if your downloading from fileshack without mercury, just thought I would let you know

The game looks pretty good, haven't tryed the beta.

Anybody got a  torrent yet?

Just started, 150KB/sec, 2 hours left. :D

(Can the fileshack downloads be resumed later without waiting in line again?)

Whilst your waiting, check this vid out. Funny in its own way

For non-subscribers, fileshack is your best bet, as it has the smallest queue

Just played it and was surprised how good it was considering I thought it would suck, possibly going to be picking this one up.

I'm stoked to see how many people are enjoying this demo. And Hazar, it's not my fault you h4x!

:(

At least we kicked some peoples asses together.

Changed downloading since GH crashed to like below 60kb :-(

Got it from FileFront again and I'm cruising at 200-400kb/s and I'll be done in 20-40 mins :) Yay!

Wow, how lame...

I was waiting in line at Fileplanet, I had 2 minutes to go before it started...

I walk away for 5 minutes and come back, It's at 56 minutes! :|

Trying the torrent, anyone have more trackers for it?

fileshack is twice the speed of fileplanet with half the waiting time ..I started downloading from two separate machines and the fileshack one is currently at 74% while the fileplanet is at 43%

downloaded from filefront. Took 45 minutes, screw fileshack/fileplanet

*wipes screen clean*

:D

Wow, that first mission for the Sybran is amazing..so f'kin much to do! :D

PEOPLE! Please, give feedback, does this run better than beta? I also got 2fps in demo, it stank.

After playing the demo's campaign...
I have two words...

Definite. Buy.

The graphics surpass Company of Heroes, the amount of detail on everything is insane.
And the fact that it runs so smoothly even with all these units on the screen.

Awesomeness!

I have 7600BFG with 2gb ram, ran with everything on high except for AA just fine.
And my God, it loads in seconds.

Anyone know any good mirrors?

I played through it tonight and really enjoyed it. All the people that haven't played it yet should definently check this out.

The first mission walks you through building your economy (you basically can't build it wrong in the beginning since it limits what you can build) and how to build an army and such.

The second mission is quite a bit harder but still very fun (hint, build lots of mobile t2 aa guys asap). I also really love how the campaign progresses, opening up more and more of the map as you go along, instead of how most rts's do it with just switching maps and making you rebuild your base every time.

I really can't wait for the full game, glad its coming out soon.

Not downloading till I upgrade my PC in a bit, but how scalable does it seem? Anyone with average PCs able to run it well on low-medium settings?

My PC is already seeing it's age and I run it fine on med-high settings actually, with a few of the bells and whistles disabled, it actually scales quite remarkably. I think the two bottlenecks to keep in mind in this game are processors (dual core really makes the difference in this game) and memory.. video card is actually not as vital in this one.

Played some of it and wasn't really impressed, ran like ass too.

get a better pc or turn the settings down :|

So yeah finished downloading it last night. Had a good time playing. Will probably buy it when it comes out. Although, just like one magazine I read has said, you do spend alot more time (Well during battles anyways) looking through that satellite view than actually watching the battle up close :x.

Okay, maybe it was a bit over exaggerative...

How about they're up there with CoH?
I'd say they're not even close.

I just played the demo and have they removed the free-rotate key? It used to be ALT from the beta, but it seems you can't rotate freely anymore. I know it's not useful from a gameplay pov, but it was good for getting nice views. You can't alt-tab out either.

There isn't even an edit controls screen? At least not in-game. I didn't check from the main menu.

It also runs worse than the beta for me. Middle-mouse panning is pretty sluggish. Low settings run equally as bad as high settings it seems.

I probably won't be buying. Ultimately it doesn't do much different from most other RTS's.

I would say it depends on what resolution your playing on. Lower the resolution the more frames you get out of it. Regardless, I'm playing at 1440x900 with High Fidelity Special Effects and High texture and runs well (which I wasn't expecting)

Its just a shame that I don't have a picture of my Commander with a Microwave Beam Weapon. They didn't stand a chance :x
