Our body is exactly like a highly object-oriented program should be. All of our bodily functions are nicely encapsulated and hidden from our perception. We can call up memories but we have no idea how they work. We can turn thoughts into words but we have no idea how we do it. The client (our conscious mind) knows how to call some important functions (not nearly all of them... we only know a fraction of what is happening in our own bodies) but not how any of them actually work. When something starts misbehaving our body throws an error message (pain, nausea, gas, etc) that gives us a general idea of what is wrong and (usually) is able to recover and keep going.
It even uses inheritance: Body -> System -> Organ -> Tissue -> Cell -> Molecule
Weird.
