Teen who ran away from home because of CoD4 found dead

Doubt suicide. Im betting more on accident.
"edit"
Lol at Darkside, Kid shouldve done Martyrdom or Last Stand if you ask me.

Wow. I hate to imagine the scene if he'd got the RRoD.

well its probably for the best. if he cant handle having his xbox taken away he probably wouldnt fared much better when he grew up and had real problems to deal with.

still pretty sad though.

Looks like this kid got LEFT 4 DEAD. Lol!!!

.....wait... *scratches head*

Ah i see your bant is up? The wounds from the banhammer have healed well?

Yea, Cod4's on xbox. Kinda looking forward to Cod5, though i wouldn't mind if it was released in another year or two.

Nah you're alright. I have very little respect for someone who does this kind of thing. I do feel for the parents, losing a child has to be very hard, and I'm sure they will feel responsible.

But mostly they should feel bad for reproducing.

Im so attracted to you right now. Your pumping hart avatar should be coverd in ice you cold hearted bitch. <3<3<3

from all accounts this kid was similiar to many of you. middle class, pretty good family, did well in school. argued with his parents and took off on his bike, (presumably to his friends house to play more cod4), never to be seen alive again

ah well one less teenager walking on my lawn

With the talk of snowfall and whatnot it sounds like he might have tried to kip outside and died of hypothermia.

I don't understand...he rides into the woods and ditches his bike. Then he's found dead with no indication of how. Sounds like some rare medical problem. Or he fell on a sharp stick.

I wonder what he was doing out there if he didn't intend to kill himself. Maybe he was going to someone else's house or something, or maybe he was hoping the police would find him. Like, for the attention or something.

Good. He deserved it.

What an absolutely horrible thing to say.
This thread puzzles me. There's the usual video game related humour (in bad taste, of course, but it's the internet and bad taste is in fashion these days anyway) interspersed with the usual "condolences, but <insert message about how kids who run away are stupid>" messages, but in between this, I can see actual hatred from some people directed at this kid, and this seems wrong to me. Is it because he ran away because of video games, and you think this is going to give video games an even worse press or something? Yes, it's a silly reason, but do you think he expected to die? It's a stupid reason to run away, and I'm sure he knew it as well as any of you- probably intended to come home after simmering down, so it seems to me that hating him for running away for that reason is stupid. It's not like he did it on purpose.
And damn, on a sidenote, the whole "natural selection in action" thing.. Social darwinism? Great. when I hear people say shit like that it makes me want to say shit that would make Godwin literally spin in his grave.

But I digress. If you justify your hatred of this dead kid and think that the guilt his parents (especially his dad, who actually helped him back) are going to feel is deserved by thinking that his reason for running away makes him any more deserving of death than someone who ran away for other reasons, or for in fact running away at all, then **** you, because you're not a good person. Call me judgemental, poke fun at this post, but it's not about me, is it? you'd just be pointing away from the issue here.
I know most if not all of you are joking, but consider this a "just in case", in case some of you don't actually think.

internet is serious business, we should always be serious, seriously serious

it's funny cuz we dont know him

I'm sheltered so anyone not subscribing to my pov is < than me

take your pick

point taken
Also lol at sheltered
I guess I was a bit(read: overly) forceful with my point of view, but you're still missing my point

Besides, my comment wasn't really addressed at the people making jokes about it, I dismissed that stuff in like, what, the first line and the last line? I wasn't even going so far as to say don't have a sense of humour about it, because we don't know him at the end of the day. It was addressed at those who were going so far as to say he deserved it, or that it was natural selection.

I was hoping for some kinda discussion on this matter, to be honest. What was being said was unnecessary and based on, from what I could see, some bad logic. So far no one has really proved me wrong.

I dont know what it is you want to discuss ...yes some people dont value life to highly ..yes some people think some people deserve death for some artibrary reason that may or may not jibe with the cultural, societal norm ..you're right; some people dont think but someone telling them that they dont wont make them start ..like I said half seriously:

I'm sheltered so anyone not subscribing to my pov is < than me

it can be paired down for more truthiness:

I'm sheltered so my pov is > everyone elses

in other words, in their limited experiences there is no explanation for something they dont understand so they make value judgements based on that and that alone ..there's literally is no thinking involved

But aren't these value judgements based on not thinking about something? it isn't just about human life, it's about hating this kid just because it was a bad reason to run away. It seems like the sort of thing someone wouldn't put too much thought into, as it would be the first thing that people think- "it's just a video game", or whatever.

I wouldnt say it's hate ..more like comeuppance ..they think he deserved what he got, I doubt they have thought it through as to why he deserved what he got but meh I dont lose sleep on the ignorant

It seems like the sort of thing someone wouldn't put too much thought into, as it would be the first thing that people think- "it's just a video game", or whatever.

which is why people automatically assume he's an idiot who deserved what he got

See this is my problem. I'm just trying to say "think it through"

for the record I agree with you, which is why I posted that Crisp was very much like some of the people who frequent hl2.net earlier in this thread

I should listen to this

I came to the conclusion long ago that I cant fight every battle ..we have to chose which battles are worth fighting over and which are just lessons in futility

this thread is edgy as ****

but yeah was following this on SomethingAwful for a while, and you gotta feel for the parents. The kid was pretty ****ing dumb for running away, but he didn't deserve to die.

Police say they suspect no foul play so honestly what a dipshit of a kid. It appears obvious he froze to death because 'he was mad.'

If you're not smart enough to seek shelter at damn 15 years old then you're just ridiculously unprepared to enter the real world in just 3 years.

It's sad but WTF man, seriously think about it.

If its suicide, I dunno why your feeling sorry for the kid.
He did it himself, it was his choice, not somebody else's.

His damn'd parents shouldn't have taken his games away.
