TF2 Halflife2.net Clan: Discussion

I'm up for it. I'm currently using a friend's Steam account to play TF2, but do plan on purchasing the Orange Box when released. I'm pretty decent at just about any class but pyro. Scout, Demoman and Spy are my favorites, though.
 
So is the clan tag [Hl2.net]? What about who can join? Is it an open clan or do we have members/recruits/trials etc?

It was said it will be an open clan, but just for the casual side I'm sure. As for the tag, how would we do that? We'd have to change our Steam Friends name, right?
 
I love this game, and I'd love to play it with you guys. I don't have a lot of time though, so I wouldn't be able to be too active.

My Steam Community name is Integrate.This, by the way.

My favorite class is the Engineer.

I don't think so? I might be wrong but...

In console 'name "yourname"' - so 'name "[HL2.net] Mutley"'. That works for me. :)
 
I think this could be fun, but I also have other potential clans lined up for TF2 (possibly)...
 
Technically I'm in another online community, but I only signed up for that for Garry's Mod. CyberPitz + I = Win. We always dominate with the Heavy + Medic combo. So yes, I'm definitely up for it! Serious competitive game play would be fun too.

I tried to change my name, wouldn't let me. And then someone asked about the [Unknown]s everywhere, and someone else said it plays off your steam community name or something.
 
See if we can plead with Valve to add a Clan tag type thing? :p
 
I'd like to join in as a casual player for the time being, problem is I'm getting a ping of 350 from the UK server ;(

Hmm, my friend was an Unknown and used the 'name' command to change his - maybe because he doesn't have a Community Name.
 
Yep i was playing with someone from here (munro)last night id love to get involved :) my steam username is coolpot :) was good fun last night on hl2.net server :)

Hmm, crazy. I guess I'll give it a shot tonight, see what happens....maybe if you don't have a steam community name...you can select what you want?

Just jump onto the server(s) to "sign up" more details about matches etc will be coming when we have an idea of what is happening.
 
Server is always empty by the time I'm off from work... damn eet!

I know, I get off at 7CST, and then it 1AM UK time. Makes it hard, but usually if I get on and start telling people to get on, they follow and it fills.

Agreed! Although for some reason there were people who enjoyed FF, the chances of joining a server was pretty high considering there weren't any filters for it. :hmph:

[Halflife2.net] is good, but it doesn't look all that good.
[HL2.net] looks good but is potentially misleading.
[HL2DN] or [HL2] or [HL2NET]?

Any more ideas?

I personally would go for [HL2NET] as the omission of the dot leads people to guess that the rest is also abbrieviated.
