TF2 Heavy Update on Tuesday

My roomate bought a computer capable of playing tf2 on minimal settings for $75....

Sucks that you'd rather complain about the 360 version.

Sheepo has early-onset Alzheimer's. Mostly affects kids who slam both their knees into a rock wall.

Heh. Well it wasn't a rock wall, but it couldn't have been all that smooth given the holes in my knees.

Also, it's meet the spy.

So who thinks we'll get this update at 1 o'clock in the morning valve time?

OH EM EF GEE SANDVICH!!!!!!
seriously though, its nearly wednesday.. WHERE IS UPDATE D:

I want to play this today!
But I won't be able to till Friday
Freakin work =/
All the updates came out today, right?

i cant launch tf2 D:, keeps saying the servers are busy, and every other time it keeps telling me my steam ticket has ran out

Just verify your game, usually fixes that.

The new alpine design is pretty awsome to look at, somthing about green that makes the red and blue more vibrant.

The unlocks are hilarious, watching a heavy with massive boxing gloves duck into cover to eat a sandwich is funny stuff, the new minigun makes a fairly violent sound to.

I like the Arena so far, people who dont like Last-Man-Standing in general probbally wont like the downtime, but the rounds are alot faster and smoother than a typical Sudden Death so they dont drag on, it plays like a condensed area battle from the larger maps.

The official blog has updated with a look at the alpine art assets: http://www.teamfortress.com/

Arena feels nothing like sudden death. Which is a good thing. The balancing system is kind of confusing at first though.

Got all the unlockables, thankyou achievement servers!
yeah well anyway. The new maps are pretty awesome! havent tried the arena mode yet, but eager to find out. Natascha is awesome, as are the K.G.B, but theyre so damn slow! Not forgetting the awesome sandvich.

If you have one iota of skill in your body, you'll be able to get 75% of the achievements just by playing the game for a week. :p

Yeah I don't even try to go for achievements. They come naturally as you play, which is what they should be designed to do.

+1 for OmegaX

Getting them as you play is my favourite way, and with the reduced requirements it's even more fun.

The only one I tried for was WTFOMGBBQ
It took me so many times, but I got it
The other ones just came naturally

The best way to view achievements isn't as an e-penis size enhancement, but rather as a metric of your own awesomeness. Play the game normally, and then when you get an achievement, think to yourself "Well shit, I just absorbed 1000 damage in one life, I'm goddamn awesome :D"

[edit] The easiest and most satisfying way to get OMGWTFBBQ is to stand at the gates during setup with your shotgun drawn, make sure you're lined up with someone, and hit Taunt about 1.5 seconds before the gates open. Nobody ever sees it coming.

I definitely maintain that it was a mistake tying the achievement system and the new weapons. I'm not sure how I'd prefer that they unlock, though.

The is especially true of the medic achievements, many of which encourage poor play. I've been trying for Placebo Effect off and on for a while now, holding back in our base and trying to kill spies, when the Medic was specifically designed to be near the action, especially when charged. I don't think I'll ever Uber a scout, and if a heavy runs in with fists, I usually look for a different healing target.

Can't wait for the achievement packs for the classes I actually play. (Engy,Sniper, Demo)

Some use achievement servers. I just make sure I know what they are and keep on the lookout for opportunities to get them.

I'm not even playing 'til the rush of heavies dies down.

Got exams, too.
