The 2nd Presidential Debate

seriously, kerry has a 5th grade knowlege of supreme court cases.
He would effing murder you in a supreme court case debate. No contest, so please stop insulting people who know way more than you do.

ShadowFox said:
How do you gather that?

talking about dredd scott with an unclear description of what the case was about. I learned dredd scott in fifth grade, and i probably could have explained it better back then.

Just because I am against abortion does not mean it is because of my faith. I was against abortion before I became a Christian. Kerry is in dangerous territory.

Bush is toast,He just made a definite decision on the "Right to Life" "Right Of Choice" Even I know you dont make an open decision on that.

I loved how Kerry explained his stance on abortion.

He doesn't legislate on his faith.

oh snap! a brutal question for bush!

EDIT: And he dodges like a pro!

What is so dangerous about it? About time somebody took a tough stance tonight. I applaud what he said.

oh man.. bush is really running away from this mistakes question (or "mix-steaks" as he puts it..)

The one thing I absolutely hate is to be stereotype. When somebody goes, "you silly Christian, all of your beliefs came from your religion and because of that, we can't use those beliefs in government" irritates the living daylights out of me when it is not even remotely true.

That's kinda hard to not say, when christians keep saying "god wants you to do this"

So are you saying abortion isn't a religious issue? Maybe it isn't for you, but it is for the majority that oppose it. That is why he brought up the issue of his faith.

Arrghh MSNBC cut me off with a few minutes left in the debate, knowing my luck I'll miss a great Bushism

So my stance should be opposed since it is commonly associated with faith?

you missed something rather funny - 1.9 million jobs have apparently been created.....where are they?

omg! bush just called terrorists "haters"!

he's so ghetto-fied

People have a right to disagree with you.

I'm not quite sure what you are saying here. I'm sure if he had twenty minutes instead of one and a half he could address your view point, but as it is, it isn't really possible.

You are complaining because you have a job that pays $40,000 a year waiting on tables?

Neither candidate did badly. I think Kerry won, but Bush had a much better showing this time.

i want to add.. i myself am a social liberal. i'm completely pro-choice, and personally against abortion. i'm an atheist more than anything else, but i believe abortion is a personal choice, i don't think the government (nor any external person/institution) should have a say in the matter at all. were i a woman, i would not have an abortion except under certain circumstances (e.g. rape, potential personal injury). that's my 2 cents.

My point is that any belief that I have that goes against a typical atheistic belief is automatically discounted because they believe that belief stemmed from religion.

I, and I believe Kerry as well don't discount your opinion, we just don't agree with it. And what I was saying is, whether or not it has an effect on you, I think religion plays a major role in the abortion issue.

Not to be too up front, but may I ask what you were before you were Christian?

I'm an accounting major. I enjoy reading about economics (I almost became an economics major). Business isn't something I need to learn about.

You will find those 1.9 million jobs if you learned about economics. ;)

I'm a born christian, but I am not hardcore, I rarely go to church n stuff. I am a republican but I do disagree with Bush on abortion, a woman should have the right to choose.

What caused you to become religious?

I'm sort of the opposite. I was born Catholic but lost interest in faith. I really have nothing against religion, it just doesn't do it for me.

Supply and demand. They have already been filled.

If you want something more detailed, make your question more detailed. I don't know where to set-up my answer for.

I don't know. It was something like an epiphany during high school.

Do you know anything about the relation of government and economics? Furthermore, do you understand the economic cycles?
