There was one spoiler that made me really regret dling it...


I'm only going to say that I found out where a certain place was...

My friend hinted at something like that (what Nova Prospekt was or something), I told him I didn't want to know

I consider the beta to be more of just a demo of the game. I had it, but i didn't dig through the sound/model files. Only one major plot spoiler comes to mind when i think about the beta. And that one is easy to figure out anyway. There were other gameplay spoilers, but if you have looked deeply into all the legit info of the game, i.e. known weapons, enemies, and friendlys, there wasn't much in the beta you didn't already know about.

The physics are hilariously fun though. Valve will definately deliver what was promised as far as the physics go.

The AI was very real. I messed with the map editor that did come with the package, and the AI reacted to me, maybe not as smartly as you'd expect, but it was there. I think all the people claiming the enemies just stood there had a very very old build.

The maps that were there were also pretty much finished and all the way textured. Again, people claiming the maps didn't work or had a lot of missing textures; old build.

my opinion on how bad the Beta is: you aren't going to hell for D/Ling it. If anything, the beta has created more hype by showing the potential of this game. It's gonna be awesome, and i can't wait to shell out $50 for it.

I doubt you will be given that information here, HL2.net only really tolerate talk on the existance of the 'beta' and not on how to use it or any specific thing in it. However some other hl2 fansites do have one or two guides...

It has almost all the guns, like 10 GOOD maps(playable) 1 vechicle, lots of missing txts. Its like before the 2003 e3 video, it has the techdemo map, all of the maps will be changed before gold, ive already seen the coast bink and its VERY differant from the build. There is only like 1 scripted sequence, its fun, but nothing like what HL2 will be, the build just gives you a feal for the gameplay

There was the alpha leak, which i heard was SHIT, and then the gold leak which came out like a day before the release

All I remember there being in the beta(it was really a alpha) was the scenes from the e3 videos and thats about it. Oh, and there were no dx9 effects.

Im not a fan of 'beta' talk.

Someone on this forum, who had played the leak, spoiled what happens after you go into the train station interrogation room (e3 2004 video). They didnt even have the decency to use spoiler tags, either :/
