It shows it as backgroundless in GIMP and MSPaint and Irfan though.

Duh...

That's because the whiteness isn't the same colour as the forum. Where the user posts a comment is near white, but where you read the username, it is a tannish colour or blue depending on the forum style you choose.

Lucid, are you uploading that exact 198x202 resolution image? You can't do that. HL2.net sizes it down and thus gets rid of the transparancy information. You need to upload a 50x50 or smaller version with the transparency all ready and good.

Edit: changed avatar again. I decided that rather than having a long picture that i couldn't resize properly, I'd take a photo of my headcrab and use that instead! So now my hedy is famous!!!

I think I need a new avatar. I tried creating an 'omg avatars has been kidnapped' fad with Koola Mena, but that didn't take off at all. Also everyone probably only knows me as Kakashi, as it's been my main avatar since forever. That and my signature.
