'The Dark Knight Rises'

Nolan said:
“We’ll use many of the same characters as we have all along, and we’ll be introducing some new ones.”

Scarecrow to appear once again in some fashion?

I think so. Unlike a lot of people, I enjoyed his brief appearance in TDK. He wasn't there to factor into the main storyline, but rather to set the scene for Batman - here's Batman, here is what he does, here's the kind of baddies he is up against.

Filmed in IMAX? I thought IMAX was a chain of cinemas. In any case it's a decent name, even if "The Dark Knight" is getting a bit overused. I think the Riddler could have worked as a side thing, but not as a main villain. Not pushed either way about his lack of inclusion. As for what villains I would like, I quite like Clayface when he's well characterized but he seems a bit to unrealistic for Nolan. I'm not sure who would be best if the Joker and Ra's aren't on the table. Could go for Batman versus the mob/crime in general/Gotham in general rather than a big villain.

Good. It will be an excellent, well-made, slick movie and I will be thoroughly entertained in the theater, and once it comes out I only have to put up with a couple more months of people fellating Christopher Nolan and having Batman-gasms and then blissful silence and freedom! Forever!

Yeah it's a bit odd, I thought he had already risen :S

Anyway I'm stoked for this, I love Nolan, most other directors would fall for 3D but he knows what he wants.

No, he just began. He's only now getting around to rising.

Since when has it been confirmed that this one is the last one? Sure, that would be great, but I don't remember seeing any confirmation.

And for the record, I, too, am looking forward to sucking Christopher Nolan's cock.

I agree that the title is stupid but I look forward to it regardless.

At least its not, The Dark Knight Returns, The Dark Knight Forever or even The Dark Knight & Robin :)

When you look at those options it looks great, but I can just imagine it sounding awkward on trailers and things. It sounds more like a slogan for the film.

Who knows, it may be some kind of placeholder.

Large screen high definition cinemas.
Filming in native IMAX (rather than many films which are converted to the format post-production) means using special cameras for higher definition and iirc different aspect ratio.

Nolan has said multiple times that he is only doing 3.

As Yorick said, Nolan has stated multiple times that it's his last film. Bale, I believe, has said similar. It was always planned as a trilogy.

The title isn't great, but 'stupid' how?

It's just corny.

I was hoping he'd call it "Gotham Knight" or something or maybe even "The Dark Knight Returns"...even though we've already got a Batman Returns.

Gotham Knight is already the name of a series of short cartoons/anime that may or may not take place in the Nolan universe between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.

Oh yeah, that Animatrix-type compilation.
Well, whatever.

Can't say that i like the name. Why didn't they just do what they did before and go with a whole new title. "The Caped Crusader" has a nice ring to it.
He's on a crusade to rid the world of evil after all.

How about...

Batman Ends.

The title makes Batman sound like Jesus Christ.

I'm done with Batman movies. They can only get worse and worse from here on.

Really? Because, after Batman Returns, I could have said the same thing (which it did for a while). But then Batman Begins and The Dark Knight came out. Lets have some faith in Nolan. It might not be as good as the Dark Knight, but I don't think its going to be bad. He knows there is a lot of high expectations for the 3rd film.

Doesn't really roll off the tongue all that well.

This movie will officially suck now.

Hey, Returns was good. I'd watch it over Begins.

He said they got worse after Returns, not that it was bad.

You may have seen it but you did not acknowledge it. FOOL

Nolan will pull a fast one and make it about Ivy instead of Cat Woman.

I thought I was the only one that liked Batman Returns!

I, too, would probably take it over Begins... if only because Returns is such a visual splendor and a young Michelle Pfeiffer in skin tight leather.

Returns was bold and stylish, and thematically interesting. As a piece of storytelling, I think it's way ahead of Begins, which plays out like a throwaway, competent comic-book movie in the vein of Iron Man or any of the other Marvel adaptations. It might pose as a tale of Batman's beginnings, revealing a tortured Bruce Wayne, but it's mostly boring and lazy. It's one thing to say Wayne is a tragic, tortured character, it's another thing to show it.

OH GO MAKE SHITTY BIRTHDAY THREADS WHY DONTCHA.

Despite Bale's Batman voice being ridiculously silly in Dark Knight, it was great fun. If it continues to get deeper and more gravely we could have comedy gold on our hands!

Very well said. Returns is my favorite of the Batman films.

Can't wait, absolutely loved The Dark Knight.

But nothing will ever top Batman & Robin.
