and those articles you linked to have bad sources...they cite russian magazines...stuff like that....worthless. and russians vote for putin every time in a landslide...and it's not because the secret police are forcing them to...god...get real..***ssia does have a democracy. the russian people aren't going to stand for another dictatorship.

The problem with this tech is that if for example N. Korea gets it?
The USA made the ABM in order to be able to stop any North Korean ICBM attack and now, they have a chance to make ICBM that overpass the ABM system

That's what I said about the US very early on, but look where we are, they are still ignoring all human rights :p

So its not impossible. Maybe it would be good with a change... McPutin might be great, since it will be run by the regular ex McDonalds personal, but now under gunpoint by the military! No bad food!!!
And we all know Russia got cooler technology... Just look at those age old rocket engines they discovered a while ago! Way beyond anything in the US. And if you can hide secret military installations in the US, think on what you can hide in Russia...

Not to mention the national anthem (Soviet version) is much better than the US anthem.

Sidenote: And Scandinavia is strategically very important, so we would get smacked anyway. What does having one of the most advanced aircrafts in the world help when the goverment is on a budget spree :rolleyes:
 
Last I heard the so called kidnapped candidate had resurfaced a couple of days later and said his disappearance was a mistake and not the result of foul play.

As for the missle defense shield: did we ever hope for it to save us in the event of a nuclear war? I've always heard it used in the context of protection against a rogue missle or country, not against a power like Russia.

I doubt Russia is getting ready to attack the U.S., or any other country in the world... The main reason for making this weapon is to insure that no one will attack Russia. Sometimes the best defense can be offense and in this situation it's true. So if some big country like the U.S. or China attacks Russia(it can happen), then they'll get annihilated by this super weapon, and i doubt they'll want to be annihilated...
 
MAD has stopped war before, and it will probly stop war again. But I do think that nuclear will happen sometime in the next 100 years.

I don't think its too likely that North Korea will get this any time soon, if its true (nothing against Russia, but they need some national pride badly right now). Russia's going to want to hold onto any advantage they can get, and the chances of them putting this upon the auction block as they have for so many other technologies is likely slim.
In addition, North Korea isn't exactly the world's largest power yet. If they get their mits onto something like this I'm willing to bet not only will most other nuclear nations, but someone's gonna know about it.
 
In all honosty I doubt anything will come of it.

Everyone knows World War III doesn't take place until 2015.

What's that got to do with anything?! At least we *tried*. Like the other 200-300 wars with our neighbours (and a dozen civil wars). US may have invaded Nazi Germany, but we invaded it before it became cool!!!

Trying and succeeding are two totally different things. Maybe Sweden fought more wars then the U.S. or Russia but i doubt that Sweden won more wars then the U.S. or Russia. The fact that Sweden started so many wars doesn't proove that it was a mighty country or a 'cool' country, it just prooves that it was a warmongering country, and i doubt anyone likes warmongers... Just look at how the world reacted when the U.S. attacked Iraq, most of the people started to hate Bush and the U.S. government. And you also seem to think that nazi's or nazi Germany is 'cool'... I don't think that nazi's where ever 'cool', the nazi's never did anything good for mankind, the only thing they did was start the biggest war in history in which died millions of people...
