Its not gonna be some fantastical story about how the little red knomes who invaded Valve HQ in search of the magic ruppleberries, but when they found none decided to eat half of the source code and sell the rest to a wannabe hacker......
That said, it looks like a good read

iamaelephant said:We know thats just bullshit though. There's simply no way a company could be that f*cking stupid. All the Doug Lombardis on earth couldn't be that dumb. If Fragmaster knew, you can bet your ass Valve knew that something was very, very suspicious about that date. There is something more to it than a simple miscalculation.
Sparta said:When did Vivendi announce that it would miss its Sept 30th date and would be a holiday release? (This was obviously before Valve announced on Sept 26th or whenever it was)
Feath said:What do you expect them to say? "We did it to piss you off"? Underestimating the time is a valid excuse. Given the nature of the first page, I wouldn't be surprised if it goes into a bit more detail, though.
iamaelephant said:I'm hoping there is a more interesting reason (let's face it, I'm well over the big ass delay now that the game is gold, but it could be a rather entertaining article none the less). Obviously they didn't do it to piss us off, but there was no doubt more to it than a simple underestimation.

This can help me finally decide from: Prince of Persia: Warrior Within or Half-Life 2.
I agree. there was more to it than just an underestimation or over-optimism, it'll be interesting to know the whole story... you just don't have a 35% finished game and convince yourself that it will be finished in a few months. hmmI'm hoping there is a more interesting reason (let's face it, I'm well over the big ass delay now that the game is gold, but it could be a rather entertaining article none the less).
