I'm going to launch myself through the windshield many times.

Oh man... that IGN video review has to me in two minds, now. It looks absolutely amazing in a way none of the leaked videos so far have managed to show... but it also has me very worried about the content that's been cut from the Australian version, and Rockstar's continued silence is really not helping to put me at ease. I guess if worst comes to worst I'll just have to import another copy, but I'd really like for it not to have to come to that. Reeeally hoping that rumour about only one cutscene being cut is true, now. That I could definitely live with.

Damnit Australia, putting a damper on my hype. :frown:

Edit - Also, HOLY SHIT THE EXPLOSIONS OMG.

Australia. Once the rejected, now the rejectors.

Gameplay just sent me a shipping confirmation :D It's on its way!
Nice little review Amish :D

why don't valve implement the euphoria engine in HL2:E3...etc

I'd like to see them act on that tbh. From what I've seen of GTA IV it sees R* are throwing the gauntlet down for other development houses in terms of how a game should look, feel & respond.

Hmm... so I went looking for confirmation about what was cut from the Aussie version. Nothing too troubling, seems to be the worst that happens is the you don't get to "see" the act when you pick up hookers/girlfriends in your car, as seen in the IGN video review. Instead it cuts to an under-the-car view like in San Andreas or the previous games... honestly, not a huge worry.

The thing that did pique my interest however, was the possible region locking on account of the censorship. What that means is, the Aussie version of the game might not be compatible with other uncut versions in multiplayer... meaning I may not be able to play with you bastards...

D:

Come on Rockstar, say it aint so. :(

Dunno why it would effect multiplayer. I'd hope Rockstar is smarter than that.

I have a question, how many of you have completed a GTA3(3, VC, SA) game to 100% without any cheatcodes?

I pretty much turned on the cheats for every single GTA game and never actually progressed through any of the stories. :D

I've been thinking about possibly replaying GTA3 and actually progressing this time.

Can't really be bothered to replay GTA:SA because of the opening missions... such a chore.
And then there's the whole management of your physical condition and hunger and stuff.

You dont get hungary in SA, you only need to eat if you want to refill your HP. Its alot not required to work on your physical condition by working out; it will naturally increase as you run around.

WhiteZero, that's actually not true.

If you haven't eaten for a while in SA, you start to get hungry ingame, if you dont eat after that, you will begin loosing HP until you die, so technically you DO get hungry and you DO have to eat..

Yeah, I don't think I ate or did any training once. It's not The Sims.

Funny, I never remember that hapening. Maybe because I would eat all the time to refill my HP after firefights. Oh well, I can't confirm or deny that gameplay mechanic, just what I experienced.

Nah, you do get hungry in the game, it's measured by the fat meter. If you don't eat, the fat meter starts to go down, and when it's depleted, then the muscle meter goes down and then when that's fully depleted, your health bar goes down.

I can confirm it, atleast on the PS2 and XB1 versions of San Andreas.

Ahhh! Ok, I do remember that now. I was confused because I never heard CJ get hunger sounds or anything like that. Gotcha.

Sorry for the OT, but this post wins Laivasse's Pick Of The Week for being something like the first time I've seen 'pique' spelt correctly the intarnet.

On-topic concession: yeah, Australian censorship sucks.

I completed VC 100% without cheating. I didn't do SA 100% because it was too f'ing big and more importantly - the game glitched out on me so I couldn't even complete the big heist mission arc.

Sorry for reposting this question but when I asked it before my post was left buried and unanswered.

Are there or have you seen any cameos from Carl "CJ" Johnson, Tommy Vercetti or Jimmy Hopkins? Yes, Jimmy wasn't in a true GTA game but I consider Bully in the GTA universe. Thanks

No.This is after all a reinvention of the whole series.

I started replaying GTA III today. Pretty nice, but sometimes you get stuck for a long time on a mission.

Ditto! Speaking of getting stuck, I ran my boat into land and clipped under it and got stuck... had to start from my last savepoint XD

I got my issue of OXM (official Xbox Magizine) today and I just read a few bit's of the review. You can download (via the ingame internet) ringtones and themes for your phone. And there are original shows you can watch on TV. This game sounds almost to deep. I'm afraid it might turn into a black hole.

Oh and they gave it a 9.5

How'd you reach that conclusion? If you don't want to watch TV, don't. If you don't want to download ring tones, don't. Personally I'll be delving into as much as I can, but it's a GTA game - you don't have to do anything in a straight line. Everything can be done how you want it to be done, give or take reasonable limitations, etc.

I think he meant it as a good thing.

In any case, I am absolutely devoted to 100%ing this game. Anything less and I am not a real man.

I really haven't heard anything about Rampages and such, so I'm assuming they're out, right? What about packages?

I dunno, the ''sounds almost to deep'' and ''afraid'' parts made me think overwise. :p But perhaps, perhaps.
