The Illustrated Story of Iso-Town

Well if I do post it here, it would have to be a panel per day, because that's how the webcomic is going to be. So, I guess I can still post them here... If you really want. I was just trying to put myself in your guys' position... If I were you I'd rather have a dedicated site to it than dig through a thread. But whatever.

I'm merely thinking about HL2.net in the long run.
What do you mean by this?

he means he doesnt want traffic to go elsewhere

I was afraid of that... So what, I'm helping keep HL2.net alive?

i'm aware of that...?
what are you arguing

lol, nevermind, this is getting confusing.

I'm working on the site right now, it should be ready for posting on here tonight... Working on the banner/logo thingy right now :)

Ok... I have it finished, it's very basic. Right now it has 4 new panels, and I will upload all previous ones, with comments, tomorrow or sometime, at which point I will go full public on some other forums and such.

It defaults to the latest panel, so click "First" to go to the first new panel, which none of you have seen yet.

Tell me what you think of the banner btw. I think the "Isotown" needs a dark outline of some sort, it blends too much.

Whoa, glad I clicked this thread. Damn good work there.

A shout box was added... Kind of nifty, PHP sites are fun to play with :D

Still working on adding all the panels.

I havent commented on Isotown before (or maybe I have?) but I must say I really like it and have been following it and I do support an official site for it. I would recommend adding a comments feature so you can read and comment about a particular panel on the panels page.

Yeah, that's what Gui said on CNC Nation. A very nice idea, and I'll see what I can do about that soon.

I'm also going to be adding a homepage eventually, with general news, and some Isotown goodies.

Hey people. I've been thinking about how great it was when Isotown used to be just in this thread. I got a lot more comments and it felt really homey, surrounded by people I knew. It feels lonely having a site, with a forum that isn't too active.

I was wondering if I should start posting panels again, along with updating the site. I fear you'll think it's dumb because why bother posting it here when it's at the site. But I know for a fact that I've lost a lot of people who used to view this thread when I stopped posting in here. So I'm asking you, do you think I should have this thread updated with the panels as they are updated on the site?

Another thing is that it would be one panel per post. Which might lead to double posting if comments are lacking.

I would PREFER isotown be posted here... I can't be bothered to, or remember to look at another website to find it. As much as I love isotown, I have too many websites i'm trying to keep track of right now. Every time there is a response to this thread, I get an e-mail, and its an easy and convenient way for me to keep up to date.

As the admin of the other site I should say not to...but it's very unactive.

Sulky speaks the truth

After about 6 hours of menial and repetitive work, here it is, the Isotown animation you've all been waiting for...

http://isotown.ytmnd.com/

You know, it's not as satisfying as I thought it would be.

Vegeta, you are an awesome person. I applaud your skills.

Heh, well this was targetting for getting more people into Isotown, and I wanted them to be able to see what was going on.

Yeah for us who are familiar with Isotown, it's a bit slow. But I'm keeping the speed on the ytmnd site the same.

I love Isotown. That animation is sweet. Keep up the great work veggie!

That show was "awesome" hahah geddit?!

Vegeta, what about adding the whole terrain with grass panels in a layer below? you can even increase the framerate and add some fade between each new image, that'd be fantastic... =)

Except I can't do that in MS Paint, so I won't.

Only thing I didn't use MS Paint for was putting the frames together.

Thought I'd bump the thread to mention this:

Surprising and awesome news for Isotown!!

Most of you know this comic, the Dinosaur Comic. http://www.qwantz.com

Well... In today's news-post, the artist mention Isotown!

I also came across a neat comic called Isotown, in which an isometric pixel town is built up, day by day. It's neat - unlike any other comic I've seen - and it's really cool to walk through and see how things grow. There's stories that are told as the town grows too, like this neighbour who was stealing building supplies and a family of blue birds! I recommend starting from the beginning.

I couldn't believe it... It's amazing, such a small comic like me getting mentioned on such a popular site. Got me a whole bunch of hits, so much that it crashed my counter somehow (?)

Anyway, I guess Isotown's unique style brings home the bacon for it. As for what this means for Isotown itself, it's inspired me to start updating it more frequently again.

Woo! This made my night. :D :D :D

So much for your "standards" eh? :p

Good for you veggie, you deserve it.

I never actually looked at this. :(

I'll make up for my negligence right now.
