The Killing - AMC

Hopefully all of these new shows live up to expectations set by other AMC programming.

Sounds like a generic crime drama, The Walking Dead looks very cool though.

Please, please don't put The Walking Dead in the same sentence as any other AMC show. We don't need that cancer spreading. This looks decent and I don't want it to get worse.

What's the basic gist of this show?

I'm willing to support AMC in whatever it wants to do... so long as that doesn't include canceling Breaking Bad. So I'm intrigued but not terribly excited.

A girl named Rosie Larsen was murdered, the series depict the ensuing police investigation. I believe this is all we've got so far. Watch the vids.

Standard 13 episode season, premieres in March.

OK, I see nothing special about this. Pass.

The premise doesn't look to be anything that innovative... very Law and Order but with more character drama. I'll watch it because AMC is pretty good at finding things I like. However I never really gave Rubicon a chance. Also, they're using a slight variation on the same damn song that has been ripped from Sunshine by EVERYONE lately. I swear I've heard it in a dozen different places and it never stops.

Meh, despite being a 4 minute trailer... it really didn't do much to grab me.

I'll still probably watch the premiere though.

It seem this has become the new Requiem for a Dream song.

I'm just glad Mad World never really took off like these. When the Gears of War trailer did it, I thought I'd be hearing it in trailers over and over for years.

It looks like it might actually be pretty good. I'm going to check it out.

The Danish show it's based on has recently been been airing here in the UK (presently upto episode 14 of 20). Pretty damn good tbh, though it definitely wouldn't go amiss with a few episodes less (the second and third series are 10 episode affairs apparently).

Without getting spoilerish there's a lot to the series that deals with characters to who are peripheral to the murder investigation, but do play an integral part to the shows storyline. However how well those roles necessarily translate from Europe to the US is debatable, also given the show is set in and around the City of Copenhagen. I suspect the principal plot will stay the same, but large tracts of the investigation as well as character roles will change.

Good news I guess that AMC have another series on the go, however I'm still kind of bummed that they didn't renew Rubicon. Truxton Spangler & Kale Ingram were some of the most original and interesting characters to have appeared on a TV screen since Roger Sterling.

Just watched the 2 hour premiere.
It was actually quite good.

I sincerely hope that the writers don't screw it up, I mean... it could be screwed up really easily, it is after all a "who dunnit?" murder investigation show.
The characters have serious potential to be really interesting if handled well.

I've just recently seen the pilot and it was pretty good. I liked it. Looking forward to the next one which just happens to have already aired :p

Tonight's ep was great.
Took a twist that I didn't quite see coming.
