Does anyone play? Has anyone ever won anything from any sort of state, local lottery? Scratch cards?
Should I even bother? I really just want some free money. :)

Your best bet is not playing..
Although if you really want to, scratchers have the best odds

My grandparents will buy em for all their grandchildren at christmas and stuff. I've seen a lot of 1-100 dollar wins

I work at a grocery store. In 4 years I've seen one guy win $10,000.00, and about a hundred thousand people waste their incomes.

Buying scratch tickets here and there, or for an occasion is fine. But I see it take a hold of people all too often. There's one guy on Sunday mornings that spends 8:00 AM to 12 noon buying scratch tickets.. He wins $2 and spends it on another ticket, and keeps going all morning, until he's blown his entire week's paycheck.

I won 15euros on one of those scratch tickets once.

One time I won $2 dollars from a $2 dollar scratch card. Got my money back. Was fun.

The lottery...

It's like tax for the idiots.

lol @ wasted income. It's not THAT expensive.

And don't pull the "what if you saved over thousands of days thousands of dollars?" because then I'll pull the "what if you ended up winning, though?" card and also "what if you didnt buy those chips, what if you saved that gallon of gas a day, etc etc" thing.

Fine, maybe not their entire income. But I've seen people who blow $200 at a time. That's a good chunk of anyone's paycheck.

The most I've seen anyone buy at one time is around $60 in one chunk, and I work in customer service in a grocery store. I can't believe how crazy some people are. The most I've lost is maybe $4 because I know that my luck is shitty anyways. The most I've won is $10 twice, once on my very first ticket and once recently.

I won..................*drumroll*...............$2.

i can honestly say that i haven't seen/known anyone who ever won anything, i mean the odds of winning somthing are not that bad, but maybe to most you can win on one is $2. the way i look at it as is do you really want to have to buy a couple of scratch cards for an hour of work? sorry i don't.:dozey:

The most I've seen someone win was $2,000. A co-worker bought a lotto ticket and it wasn't all 6 numbers, but some combination got her $2,000, which she used to help with her bills, etc.

This G-Mod comic says it all (this was created not be me but by an 'operative lm', he posts on these forums):

Needless to say, I believe that the Lottery is just a big hoax. Otherwise it would be possible to actually get the big jackpot all at once instead of getting pieces of it over time ore only having half all at once. And taxes will eat up a big chunk of your winnings unless you have a method of sustaining a large amount of money (ie. you're already a millionare).

My mother found a $100 winning ticket on the ground during Mother's Day. She then bought $100 worth of tickets. :|

Shit, forgot to check my ticket for Saturday's draw. :|

Could be sitting on $18 million here.

Can i have some? :D

Maybes aye, maybes naw.

Tell you what, if I win, I'll send you a fiver or something.

Lotteries: tax for the people that are bad at math :)

Premium Bonds are where it's at. Scratch cards and the like are no better than the slot machines - the house always wins.

Thats why you run away to hong kong once you win! :)

I got three numbers! :D

On three different lines. D:

Back to work tomorrow.

I played the lottery a few times. The most money I have ever won was 5 dollars so I can not really brag to much about it.

LOL @ Rakurai buying lottery tickets

Occasionally I'll convince a parent to buy one. It's stupid, but fun. Oddly enough, I've won my money back a good 4 or 5 times...
