I once let my friend borrow my GDI disc of the original C&C back when I was 11 or so. He really loved the game, and hoped that his old computer in his room would be able to play it. Well, little did I know that my friend's computer did not have a CD-ROM drive at the time (hell, it might not have even had Windows. Those were the days.) Undetered, my friend decided to stick the CD in any opening that it would fit in, which in this case, was an 8 inch floppy drive. As you can imagine, the game didn't work, and the CD got stuck in there. Months later, I asked for it back, and he dodged the question. At the time, I didn't care that much, because I had Red Alert. It might have been a year later until he could tell me what really happened, and made me promise that I would never tell anyone about his God awful stupidity.

Now its been 10 years since that happened, and I think I should be allowed to tell perfect strangers on the internet about this. We're both in college, we're both computer science majors, and as a matter of fact, he gets better grades than me. All of this doesn't matter, because I can say truthfully that I never stuck a f*cking CD into an 8 inch floppy drive.

Can I laugh at your friend?

Lol, I have like 20 C&C disks sitting around in my CD stashes... let's see... I'll let you know if any of them turn up in a disc drive:

C&C GDI
C&C NOD
C&C Covert Operations
And then from the C&C Worldwide Warfare Pack I have:
C&C GDI (another one)
C&C NOD (another one)
C&C Covert Operations (another one)
Red Alert Allies
Red Alert Soviet
Red Alert Counter Strike
Red Alert Aftermath (both these words are from HalfLife... Counter-Strike and Aftermath)
Tiberian Sun GDI
Tiberian Sun NOD
Tiberian Sun Firestorm
Red Alert 2 GDI
Red Alert 2 NOD
Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge
Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge again (I dunno why I have 2)
C&C Renegage Disc 1
C&C Renegade Disc 2 (maybe there was a third one. I dont remember)

And the ones I don't have:
C&C Generals... (no 3d for me, thanks. I'm waiting for Supreme Commander for that, since the focus is still old-school overhead simplicity)

That's a crap-load of CD's...

But none of them are stuck in a disc drive! They are in STABLE condition... repeat... STABLE condition! You can all return to your homes!

Of course you can laugh at my friend. Actually, since your on my forum on my site, you can laugh at him there. It's BettyTheNinja. You should make a thread about it there, because I'm pretty sure it would seriously disturb him.

EDIT: Yo Dario. You should get C&C, the first decade. It's every single command and conquer game on one DVD. Even though you have them already, the convienience of only needing one disc might be worth it.

I've never tried doing something like that...like people putting the floppie disks in CD rom trays nowadays? :(

I guess that's the price we pay.

Stuff your friend in something he shouldn't fit in. IRONY!

Maybe he folded it in two or something equally ridiculous.

This reminds me that I still can't find my third NWN disc. :(

You know the exact same thing happened to me. I let my friend Richard borrow my c&c collection(minus red alert 2,I could never part with that :D) and my renegade like in 8th grade. Now we are both on our 4th year in highschool and he has still neglected to give me those games back. Instead he just gives me gigabytes upon gigabytes of emulators and roms.

Give us his phone number so that we can taunt him.

You know, while reading that, I thought you were going to say he sawed the disc into the shape of a floppy disc. That would be awesome. Square CD!

"CD's a floppy drive can read!"

Sulk, patent it, then give me 10% since I Told you to do it.

My bad, it was a 5 1/4 inch floppy drive. It was one of those big drives with the really thin floppy discs that were...floppy.

I remember I saw some guy in a commercial put a CD in the floppy drive years ago, and I laughed. Then my friend told me he did that, and I laughed harder.

If that's one of the worst things that he didn't want you tell anyone about, his life must be pretty ****ing good.

<overt_sexual_reference>People will try to stick their floppies in anything these days.</overt_sexual_reference>

Like so?

On a real note, those rectangle CDs are pretty close.
