Heres to you, Rafa 5.0!

DIscuss here what vehicles we will and want to see.

Personally, i think there should be a pilotable combine hover car.
 
There's already a hover bike..

We have no idea what vehicles are to be included in HL2 past the hoverboat and the buggy :(

Oh well.. here's to hoping for better vehicles than FarCry's crap.. although I liked driving the forklift around in FC
 
Far Cry should have had dirt bikes don't you think? I think it should have. Also, the hang-glider should have been one of those propellor controlled ones....like a plane. There should also have been jetskis as the normal boats and rubber duckys were quite sucky.

Stupid far cry...wasting so much potential.

If it can go on land, how is it a boat? I don't see how that definition suits!

I'm pretty sure the boat doesn't hover. It's just a couple pontoons and a big fan, right?

Yeah that's it.

The thing with jetskis in hl2 is you'd still just see the stupid handle bars. I want to do wicked/cool jumps from third person mode!! LIEK DUDES, like in far cry!!

No third person mode is shit. I'm not buying hl2 because of that.

I would like to be able to use at least one type of airborne vehicle.
 
I heard that the buggy is very fun to drive in First person view (playtesters) - and, normally in games like Far cry esp., it becomes very tedious to shoot with the windscreen in the way - however the buggy has no such thing.
 
I wanna see the original buggy from the 2003 vid, not that cut-down excuse in the latest one.

And no hover stuff - wheels and suspension bouncing over terrain is teh FUN

Where did you hear that there was no third person mode? I got an eMail from Rick stating that there was a while back...

Really? I thought that would violate the whole you can't see Gordon rule? Unless you just see the buggy driving with no-one in it.

But if it's true that's good news.

I think it would be cool to hop in something that flies, maybe a some aces high air combat with Combine Gunships... it could happen... :D

I was about to say.. of course there are people out there that would dismiss Half-Life 2 for stupid things like that.

I think with all this physics stuff, half life might revolutionize the way we play games from now on.. alot more interaction with environment and less scripting. Just a thought.
 
I want a motor scooter , with Guass Gun and a spinable holder for a Spas-12 for close quater combat on ma scooter, and so i dnt drop my spas-12 when im on my scooter...scoot scoot.

Combines wont know what hit em when i ride up to their baracades in my shiny new scooter....with my shades...ringing my bell

No, apparently it's the sort that you have to acess through the console. It doesn't automatically go to third person when you go into a vehicle...

Like I said, it seems it's only accessible through the console, or by modding, like it was in HL.
 
Valve's reputation is saved. Hallelujah.
 
whats important is the quality of the physics... for example ut2004's vehicle physics are so basic its boooring, no tire flex, no real recoil\dampening, no chassis flex, no absorption of mass forces (example is a deflated tire, it will absorb the energy and not bounce)..... anyways, hopefully hl2 will be better... but who knows.
 
I read somowhere there was also a water bike/scooter. Don't know if it was true thaugt.
 
I want the vehicle that looks like a copy of HL2. So I could have a game on my hard drive that would be HL2.
