Enjoy!

Just started watching it myself.

Edit:
That looked rather enjoyable. Besides the faster paced combat, this looks no different than the singleplayer games.
I love the fact that the characters do not feel wimpy and gimped like in most MMO's. Looks like they are putting a lot of work into the storylines and the voice work. I'd expect no less from BioWare. I have high hopes for this game but i am bit worried about it since an MMO is a whole new field for them. We'll see how it pans out in the coming months. Hopefully, they will follow the Guild Wars strategy and focus on expansion packs for profit instead of including a subscription and/or a micro transactions system. The latter would be a big turn off for me.

Just looks like a boring wow clone to me :/

Why make a mmo that is based so heavily on NPC interaction?

To keep people away from all those unpleasant people who play MMOs :p

Anyway, looks like dull 1 button combat. Looks nice if you're not playing, feels dull if you are.

Also the cover system should have been implimented for all ranged classes imo, having the bounty hunter (I'm still annoyed that bounty hunters and smugglers are faction alligned outside the players control) stand in the open blasting away looks a bit silly.

I watched part 3 two times now and I still don't get how you do quests with multiple people. The Sith Warrior could make a big decision on killing the captain or not, but the Bounty Hunter seemed to be relegated to making two remarks. Or what if one person in a group wants to kill the captain and the other doesn't? It simply doesn't look like a MMO yet. I hope Bioware shows some parts of the "massive multiplayer" soon. Capitals, PvP zones, etc.

Said it before (probably not on these boards though), and will say it again. Bioware are artists of single-player narrative and NPC character and plot development, and should not be doing an MMO.

LOL he talks about the combat feeling heroic, it doesn't feel heroic to me at all, it all feels very stale and boring..

Looks fun.
I still can't see where the MMO aspect comes in though, this looks and feels exactly like a singleplayer game.

Go figure, it's Bioware. Combat has never been their strong point imho.

Eh, the ranged combat/cover system in Mass Effect (I played PC version) was quite acceptable, having a combination of that and the lightsaber mechanics from Jedi Outcast would have been a great basis for combat and would have moved combat away from the rather stale and unsatisfying system in most MMOs (click on target, wait for target to die)

Eh, it looks alright.

I remember reading an interview somewhere where one of the developers pretty much came out and said "Were going after the WoW player base with this game" which I think is the problem with all these new MMOs coming out. It's basically everyone going "Alright Let's just do what WoW does, but BETTER. This will work perfectly", but it doesn't.

The thing is that the combat in Star Wars:KotOR wasn't exactly it's strongest point and it will not decide whether or not this game will be good. If this is like Star Wars:KotOR x10 except in multiplayer I'll be very happy.

Besides, if we were to compare this to the combat at low level in WoW I'd say this looks like a lot more fun.

This worries me because KotOR except multiplayer is a horrible ****ing idea.

They keep talking about how "Oh you can make so and so decision that will impact this and that" but in the end I will be VERY surprised if any of it matters endgame aside from changing what gear or quests you get. This is an MMO which means the world isn't going to revolve around your character, otherwise it wouldn't be an MMO. Every time news comes out for this game I feel like they were planning on making a singleplayer game and just said "**** it lets make this an MMO and rake in that CASH MONEY"

They should have made it singelplayer RPG. Not this crap.

I don't see the point either. If they can make it work, it should be very interesting though. Still have very mixed feelings about this game.

I have similar feelings to everyone else...it looks like they took what should have been KOTOR3 and slapped co-op and a monthly fee on top of it.

I don't know where all this negativity comes from. The game is practically the same as the previous games just with added multiplayer. What's wrong with multiplayer?
Remember, Guild Wars was labeled as an MMO too before it came out.
The devs have yet to announce what business model they'll be using for the game.

Not having a monthly fee would greatly increase my chance of buying this game, but games like Guild Wars are rare exceptions as far as mainstream high-budget MMOs go. Especially as content-heavy as this one sounds.

I have never liked MMOs. I like to be, as they put it, a heroic fighter in games. I want my actions to have a big impact on the game world, be it linear event or in a RPG don't matter much. I tried out WoW free week and hated it.

Co op feats like the battle in the video could be cool, but that mission will be open for every one else. You know every one playing bounty hunter class will win "the big hunt" and have the same god damn mentor. It just feels so... I don't know, plain? Everyone can do what you do.
You're not a great hero or villain in a star wars universe, your there with thousands of other guys just like you.

Guild Wars relied on expansion packs for profit. Well, it worked for them. I don't see why it shouldn't work for this game too.

I probably shouldn't tell anyone this, since I want to win, but beta signups are now open.

I signed up on the site and clicked "yes" for participating in prerelease testing, is that all I have to do?

You're supposed to run the java applet that scans your machine's specs.
