The only thing worse than a World of Warcraft nerd is . . .

[And everything else said]
And the thing is though, you are slightly wrong about one thing: it does make us nerds. But who cares, right? We can be nerdy. Everyone on here right now, no exceptions, NO exceptions, is a nerd. But as long as you have fun doing what you do, why should that matter? You have a nerdy hobby? That's YOUR hobby. That's your fun. Other people making fun of how you have fun is petty.

I think you just made Chuck Norris himself shit his pants.

Thread really seperates those who know what creating something means from those who don't.

I've created plenty of different things and I know some are sad. Pointing it out isn't wrong either..

Spending hours & hours on a pointless indoor / individual hobby recreating parts of video games with lego, is quite sad. I bet he knows it, it wouldn't bother me personally if people thought something I had done was boring / sad.

And my post said 'respect for making it'..

Very lame thing to do.

I wouldn't be his friend.

A fact of life: Stepping on a piece of Lego makes being stabbed in the gut feel like oral sex.

Did you even read Darkside's post?

ffs. It's something he enjoys doing. It's constructive. Why would you call something he enjoys doing "sad".

You've further demonstrated my and Darkside's point.

I just view the video games as his inspiration to create something. It doesn't matter if he was inspired by a painting, a book, a movie, a cartoon. As long as he was inspired to do something enjoyable I think it's alright.

Now, there's many ways this sort of thing can become 'sad', but there's no element of that at all here presently.

Damn, that must have taken FOREVER. I love seeing Legos come together, mainly because I could never do it myself. :(

Would it be equally sad to create a similar replica of, say, london? No. So why is it sad just because it's WoW?

you qualify for sad because you don't even know wtf he made in the video

Wow, good sir I commend you for that speech. Personally, I love LEGO, and Halo, so I have no complaints about him making something, dare I say, epic? Plus the fact he made it onto the LE Disk of Halo 3, one of the highest grossing video games ever??? THAT is something to be proud of, regardless of how nerdy he may seem to other people (ironically, he would probably meet a lot of new people that share similar interests due to the fame he is getting).

My two cents.

Oh, and MiccyNarc, this is from Halo 2, not WOW. Its a replication of the multiplayer map "Zanzibar".

Yeah, just realized that. I don't play either game, Zanzibar sounds like a WoW city, and world of warcraft is in the thread title so yeah.
