I believe we've had this discussion before.
The conclusion was that 80% of all anounced mods never get released anyway.
Which still leaves plenty of mods for HL2, but not as many as you would have expected from that number.

The 9800 pro I bought last week, which is a main stream card nowadays, can handle Doom 3 at max settings perfectly fine (minus the anti-aliasing).

You wish. The Doom 3 engine is severly limited, and only provides good graphics. I mean really, not a good engine to choose for anything else then just what Doom 3 is all about.

You can't expect to have a fair discussion of these 2 games on a board flooded with HL2 fanboys, thought that was common sense.

Doom 3 engine is not "severly limited", don't know where you got that from. The only thing Source has on D3 engine is the physics (which isn't even Valve's).

The AI- I saw nothing special about a door that kicks itself in whether the combine soldiers are there or not. The gfx- HL2s are really good but the D3 engine has better gfx. The physics - HL2's physics are way better than doom3's (obviously).

i know what you mean but I have to correct: most people generally can't stand rap, that bullshit you hear on the radio and on MTV is not hip hop music at all it's just pop music, the kind of rap that us hip hop people like just has nothing to do with it. what people like that they label as hip hop is just soft-ass rnb, and skill-less gangster propaganda. those same people would cover their ears if they heard some dilated peoples or immortal technique.

Saying that all but 37 hl2 mods will fail, but all 37 doom3 mods will not is just as bad as thinking that this proves something.

ROFL The AI in doom 3 is horrible!! And yes i know because I have played threw it 3 times !!

All the AI does in doom 3 three is shot at you when they see you other than that they are running as fast as the can at you, anyone know anything that does that!???!

When a shotgun welding demon is shoting at me I just run behind a wall and, here comes old dead marine not knowing where I hide (right in from of his eyes) AND BLAST TO THE FACE (every single time) !!! It is not called AI in DOOM 3 it's just retarted :rolling:
