The sims 2

Sims 2 is schweet!

My sims have been having sex 3 times a day ;)

My copy's just been despatched apparently. Man do they work late hours at Gameplay (it's midnight here). Might arrive tomorrow!

I hope you can run it windowed. Slightly off-topic but I get a performance boost of about a third when I run Doom 3 in a window, plus it looks nicer (not blown up to fit the screen).

Within the first 30 minutes I was talking to a seemingly normal woman... and out of nowhere she walks outside, looks around suspiciously, and steals my garden gnome! Then, she comes back inside and starts talking to me again. Later that night it let me sneak over to her house and steal it back.

The Sims 2 is great fun! I've been playing for the last few hours, and it's really just a very fun game, and satisfying too :)

i have a sims family which consists of a guy, the guys wife, and the guys sister, and unforunately while the guy is at work his wife and sister have fallen in love, yay for hot lesbian action.

Hah. This game should win the award for best installer. If such an award existed of course...

hahah nice... has anyone figured out how to go to malls and other buildings and such? I dont see any options to go out anywhere. And how do I go about moving my one family to a new house?

Going downtown - go to your phone and go under transportation and then you press taxi i think it is.

Movieng to a new house - i never did it before, but in the news paper theres something that says look for house or something like that.

Is this worth buying then anyone? I know its strictly geared towards a weird bunch of gamers that have nothing to do but i kinda liked Sims1... So is this worth it or is it nearly the same as the original with better graphics?

LMAO...made me spill me tea reading that

It was an armani sweater, honest :hmph:

Anyhows have to say I really enjoyed the first sims game (despite my reservations). I got a good months worth of entertainment out of it (which is more than I can say for Doom³). From what I've seen of the sims 2 footage it looks like they have really revamped a lot of aspects as well as brought in the 3D engine. I particularly like the notion of life goals as a principal motivator behind each sims behaviour, it will certainly add to the gameplay.

My one concern is the fact that the sims age (is it optional?). I remember a few years back getting really frustrated with Creatures because by the time you'd gotten the liddle buggers walking, talking and not acting like complete retards they invariably croaked (15 hour lifespan). If the aging isn't optional, I hope they last a bit longer than the creatures did before expiring.

If your doing well there's a reward either aspiration or career (probably aspiration) that keeps the sims young.

I don't know, I have some sort of stimagata against the Sims. I must say, it looks like The Sims 2 looks quite fun. I may pick it up if I get bored.

I'm just not a fan of paying for expansion packs (with you know they will do). And no I don't pirate stuff.

Thinking of Sims Online are ye? This one isn't online...

Heh, I really would like to play the Sims Online. Not because of the game, but because there are organized crime syndicates :D
There are people who walk into your house and do all kinds of stuff (that costs you money) and won't leave till you pay them. Or there's also virtual pimping and prostitution. It was a huge problem a while back

If you want to stop your sims from aging (as I do). Hit CTRL + SHIFT + C. This should bring down a small text bar from the top you can type into. Type aging off/on to toggle aging if you want. From adulthood...you have 28 sim days 'till they turn elderly. Screw that. My sim is gonna live as long as I want him to.

Update on my sims:

My sim was previously sleeping with both good looking maids that came to the house daily...I asked one to move in and get engaged. The other is a good "friend" and comes over sometimes.

When my main sim "Tucker" is at work I get bored with the woman maid...so I start the lesbian maid action going. Tucker comes home to see his girlfriend kissing another maid...and what does he do? Not what I would've done...he goes up to his girlfriend and slaps the shit out of her when he should've clapped and said, "Keep up the good work." or "Let's move this to the love tub." He was -100 on the relationship window with both of them after that.

I repaired one of the relationships...but the girlfriend was upset and wouldn't stop going to the bar and drinking all the time. Seriously...if I didn't give her something to do all the time...she'd head straight for the bar... So I was annoyed with her. I turned off the automatic AI for a few days and sent her to the backyard to die...it took longer than I had thought. She got so desperate that her goal was to "Defeat the Grim Reaper."

The grim reaper actually shows up over her passed out body and starts writing up a report or something. Part-way through...he gets a phone call and starts talking on his cell to somebody. Had I decided to try to save her life, I could've "Plead for loved one's life" (the option that comes up when you click on the Grim) but being the bastard I am...I let him take her.

Now I'm a line cook at a restaurant and just sleeping with the 2nd maid that lives with me now.

Wow..that was long.

It is quite fun. I play it when I'm not playing Fable (which is only when my roomates are on the main TV - I need to get my TV set up in my room :()

I finally got it! :D It''s good fun... got a question, though.... if I turn off aging, does that only stop adults from reaching old age? 'Cause I still want the little ones to grow up (one of my dudes, Iggy, is like in love with the teenage newspaper girl... :O).

And I really like the wants/fears thang... it's sweet... and how personality is really visible... my angry guy, Larry, walks around punching his hands together all the time.

Oh, and anyone else have green coming out the toilet? :p

WHOA WHOA WHOA! Sims 2 is already out? Damn college has got me out of the loop lol. I'll have to pick it up and give it a try. Save me some time by not making me read 5 pages and tell me is the game good or bad :p.

Good game, definitely entertaining =)

I threw my first "sim" party hehe.

It's not a party if they have their suits on lol.

I made a 'Freeman' family after my first dudes... Gordon, Alyx, Barney... and Britney! :D

The problem is... they live in the very small 'European Townhouse' prebuilt house thing... Gordon, especially, is having a hard time... he's trying to be a scientist... but he's scared of fire, and no one can cook... so he gets depressed and starts talking to his therepist and professor volley ball... causing him to neglect his needs... so he ended up talking to the 'social bunny'... and then attacked the social bunny... sometimes he just sits on the ground and weeps...

Picture!
Barney is the cowboy... hehehe...

lol I should just make a family and let them do whatever they want and see what happens heh

I bought it.

*Sob*

Yes, I bought it. Just checking to see if HL2 went gold, and now I'm off to binge game for the next 6 hours. :D

:dozey: The way some of you guys give some explanations of the game, it makes me want to try it out. I dunno what to do!!

I never knew how complex of a game the Sims could be.

I thought it would be a type of game that I can learn and play while brain dead (I never played the first one). I was wrong. Man, I want to play it, but my mind won't let me. :(

I spent an hour going through the tutorial and creating my first character. Creating my Sim was a lot of fun. Never knew there could be so much customization in a character. I think one of my character aspirations is for her to have three "love interests at the same time." :naughty:

You chose the Hugh Hefner wannabe just like me

The dude in the hot tub screenshot at the top of the page looks like Affleck! Aflleck I say!

Buying it abit later, going to get it in an hour or so. Hope its good.

My Sim has seven lovers at once. One is a maid with red hair. One is the hot pizza delivery girl. One is the hot gardener. The other four are random girls that showed up at my house. I also made public "WooHoo" (sex) in the changing rooms at the clothing store... and I did another WooHoo in my hot tub in front of a group of strangers (but it didn't count as a "public")... of course, I did some in bed as well.

Is anyone having random crashes or reboots while playing the Sims 2?

Wow, OCybrManO is pimpin' the OCybrWomenO. Ok that was a lame joke :/.

sims 2 is soooo much better than sims...and those bloody expansion packs!!! they took up the top 5-10 ffs!!

but youve got to get sims 2, whether you hated sims or not. its just so...addictive and...engrossing.

'dont play it. live it' - how very true.
