Are you guys goign to get it? I am
Gamespot : 8.9
IGN: 9.4

Deffinately, I've been planning on getting this one for a while. I liked the sims, but it lacked a lot which would have kept me coming back to it.

sims = officially worst game ever + award for the most amount of add on packs, due to people becoming laughably obsessed.

The original interested me for a while, but I don't see how this one is really worth the money when I have a perfectly good copy of the original.

Preorded from EBgames yesterday and it just shipped. I did 1 day air so it will come tomorrow.

I have to wait until Thursday to get it... :flame: Damn the closest Gamestop being 100 miles away! Best Buy is my only source now... :|

That could go for any game, it just depends on the person who plays it. The Sims is much more mainstream than say ... Half-Life 2. I play games very casually, I don't have too much time for games and I usually spend that time cruising the internet instead. That said, from what I've played of Sims 2 it seems to be a good way to spend that time.

But on the game, I've got a romantic guy, and his goals are to bone as many chics as possible. The game moves a ton faster than the old one, I've played it for a little over an hour and I've got a few girls like maxed out but I don't know how to make em' bump uglies. Has anyone who has played the game found out? I told them to stay the night and they agreed, but that's all they do.

I tried to get into to the Sims but just never could. Telling my little dudes to go to the bathroom or go watch TV, was just not something that ever appealed to me. And generally I really like "sim" type games.

I honestly like building/furnishing the houses more than anything else in the game, maybe i'm just gay...but i'm not.

Controlling their lives is fun for the first few hours then it just gets pretty repetitive and even annoying at times so i'll prolly just wait till the game is a bit cheaper although I do want to play it now :(

The game is looking to provide a lot of laughs... more than the first! And even THAT was a lot!

If you counted the seconds than you need a life.

Bah, I really hate the sims. I tried to get into it but never could. It's just a computerized version of "house" to me only with a few more things that you can't do in real life. I certainly see how it can appeal to other people though so whatever floats your boat. I have to admit though, spending all night trying to get my wizard up to level 20 even sounds cooler than spending all night living out a virtual "real" life to me.

Anyone want to guess how many expansions there will be? :p

I made a guy and messed around some. I'm sleeping with both the hot maids that wear the classic french maid outfit (they switch off days :)).

I have only gotten them to "WooHoo" (as the game put it) in the love hot tub. You can only get it once you get like 20k pts. that you get from your daily goals.

The Sims grew on me to be quite honest. I progressed from the simple pleasures of torturing and starving my little people (setting off that fireworks set in the house and burning everyone alive was great fun), to the more difficult, yet oddly fulfilling things, such as actually playing the game as it was supposed to be played. I actually enjoyed building and decorating the homes. It was very satisfying. Making up odd little stories with my Sims was always entertaining. I'm sure the Sims 2 with it's movie maker/much more robust construction set/genetics/etc. will provide hours of entertainment.

Would be pretty hot though... if they release the The Sims Online 2 soon. if they wait around like they did with TSO then they will just be screwed once again.

I didn't really like the first Sims because it got boring very, very quickly. So no, I probably won't get Sims 2.

Thing is: who the hell wants to play a game that tries to simulate real life?

*exceedingly loud cheer* AGREED!!!

Ugh, its not a real life sim, in real life can you

- Get pregnent (If your male) after getting taken by a ufo
- Use magic
- See ghosts

I cant think of anymore right now, the sims is not about replaceing your life, its about leading someone elses, Im really ****ing annoyed with people saying "If you play the sims you need a life", they need to grow up, or wait maybe there right, maybe all these married with children people who play the sims dont have a life, and ANYTHING apart from what you, hunter, say is a life, is worth liveing, so please hunter tell me what a life is, so I can lead one.

On the other hand, **** off, if you dont like the game, dont come and bitch at people that they have no life cus they play a game, really ironic when you most likely play hl2, what.. you wanna be gordon freeman is that is? Get a life!

lol im so witty. *Ends flame* >_>

I'll have to check that out after I get back from class. I didn't see it in the in-game graphics options...but I'll look into it.

I like Sims 2 a lot more than Sims 1. I got Sims for a gift and thought it was gonna be completely lame (I was with the people saying, "You play a life Simulator...get a life). I tried it nonetheless...and I had fun. It was kinda cool trying to solve the little problems (such as your mood as you goto work - promotions quicker that way). Whenever I got upset with the game...I could always just switch to buy mode...and trap my sim in with 2 stools....leaving him completely helpless...and he'd die eventually.

Sims 2 makes playing easier and more interesting. The whole aspiration system gives you immediate goals you would like to attend to in order to heighten your sim's mood and skill pts (through rewards). The phone system works better I think (I don't remember the old one so much) how there are phone books, you can just throw a party (needed sometimes when your sim has aspirations to become popular), etc. The game is more user-friendly and allows for many cool situations.

Enough for now....gotta goto class.

The Sims was great fun, very addictive, Sims 2 is brilliant and there's nothing wrong with someone who wants to play it, its a lot of fun and what the Mistress said, its hardly replacing lives.

They've fixed just about all that was wrong with the first and this one really is a great game, sure as hell makes a change from the typical WWII and other war games out there at the moment.

Course those people who made sites pay only for downloading objects they didn't even own anyway, they need help and hopefully they don't become popular this time round, little nobodies profiting from other people's work. :(

I'm hopefully going halvsies with my sister as I'm overdue to get her a birthday present. She's more into it than I am, I swear
