Now Alyx is going to be EMO through the whole game. I can't possibly imagine her saying "NICE SHOT GORDAN!" with that face. No way at all, valve will have emotive sense not to do that.

Remember the first Hunter battle, and the commentary Valve put with it. Since Alyx got stabbed and nearly killed by the hunters, she was pissed at them, and determined not to let them take her. Valve said that they carefully crafted her emotional response in that scene to fit what they felt would be Alyx's natural response to what she's been through. I think they'll do the same sort of thing in Ep3, especially if you get to fight against Advisers.

i think its silly to think Gordon cant talk, he just isnt talking in game as part of the dialog, hell i talk while playing as Gordon all the time. THATS his voice - its us. when Alyx was saying 'Cmon Grodon take care of bla bla bla' whatever the line is and i said 'yea ok girlfriend where do i go?' eventually figure it out and come back later and shes like something 'boyfriend'... i was like, hey did you hear me before? lol. coincidence of course, but it was still funny. i talk to the game all the time, like calling magnusson names is always fun. to me thats the whole point, its immersive. anyway someone Suggested that they should have a ?emotion button? for example, when you walk up to alyx your press the button and you (Gordon) express?s his feelings in some way.

But then i thought wdf, you don?t need a ?emotion button? they should make the ?emotion button? the use key, which is E or F by default i forgot. That would be good, because you could use it on the rebels? or on any npc with different reactions.

I could see them having her cry on Gordon's shoulder or something like that, but I really don't think it will be awkward if he doesn't say or do anything to comfort her. Silence is always appropriate in times of tragedy, often when people try speak or say something useful in times like that they just end up sounding like douche bags anyway.

Having Eli survive the attack would retroactively ruin Ep2's conclusion and seem really cheap. I think they made it pretty obvious he's dead any way.

I don't think Alyx will be angry at Gordon. That would seem really out of character to me.

THe funny thing is, I sent an email to Gabe explaining how I wish they'd expand our ability to "interact" with others, particularly Alyx in this upcoming episode.

I think when she breaks down, instead of helplessly standing there and staring at her, it would be nice if we could approach her, press the "interact" button and she would respond as though we were trying to show our support. Perhaps turn to Gordon and begin sobbing on his shoulder. At least something that would make the player feel as if they have SOME method of being there for her.
