I keep losing money today :(.

At least it wasn't that much unlike my friend who just lost about $210....

Sometimes you get that one lucky stock where it zooms up and you recieve nearly 300% of what you put in.. That is once in a while though..

Go S&P 500.

Might be a hassle though overseas, no idea about the Korean market.

I want stocks. I did business studies at school damn it, I demand stock!

lol there's no girls in stocks.

For serious though, the way most people get involved is their place of work, with stock options/benefits. Just find a good job or advance well in one and get a good retirement plan

That's why you have to buy mutual funds and not individual stocks.

About 80% of my investments are mutual funds that are very actively managed on a day to day basis.

Although, I still lose money sometimes as well.

oh noes. NHN is -4100....

I really pity my friend who has about 50 on that.

Well, anyway, lost only $5 now, went back up.

I couldn't do stocks, way too confusing for my pea sized brain :(

It can be simplified, very much so. It's not that difficult, and if you're investing petty money (very small, individual investments in futures that you like yourself) it's super simplistic. However, you'll want an advisor if you're really going to get involved.

I'm investing in Healthcare. Struck it lucky with Wellpoint Inc (WLP). When their quarter report came out, the stock rose $3.

People should put more stock into anti-bad movies.

If that kind of stock exists

The Stock Market is not for people who want to invest $200. Account for transaction fees, taxation and so on and you really didn't make that much at the end of the day, even if the company(s) did well. Word of advice: stick to a mutual fund until you can invest real money in the stock market.

210 alot?

friend of mine put 16000 guilders (dno how much euros, the half or something) in Versatel, it was the money he got when his mom died of cancer
im not sure if he lost more then 2000 or if he only has 2000 left
anyway he lost a lot but you didnt see him making a thread about it

he just banned it out of his brain like the death of his mom

What the hell does that have anything to do with anything.

That's just depressing.

yep

just saying you could be young, listen to your dad and lose a lot more

For purely inspirational purposes: Today, it went up another $2.50. As I had invested in 100 shares (about $6000), I made about $600.
Just three weeks ago I was sweating bullets because the stock went down about $2 per share due to lawsuit settlements.
