It is very natural that many gentiles should feel a slight and occasional resentment against Jews.

Blacks and Jews in entertainment

If you know much at all about modern entertainment, it is dominated by blacks and jews. I was thinking about this and thought I would post this.

Is it becuase the surviving blacks and jews from holocaust and slavery are more appreciative towards life? A better breed? All the survivors are more intelligent, cunning, were able to survive, etc.?

You see, My father is Jewish, and everyone in my family is extremely rich and successfull. Doctors, scientists, etc., etc.

So what do you think makes them so successful in entertainment? Is it becuase they are a little rare that makes them more interesting? A different way to look at things?

When it comes to actors and comedians I suspect alot of the time its because mainstream audiences often like their actors or comediens to be unique. Being a minority can help make you seem more unique.

I've read in the BBC link that in Europe many jews hid the fact, even changing thier names, etc.

but a race is also defined as:

"A local geographic or global human population distinguished as a more or less distinct group by genetically transmitted physical characteristics."


so in that sense Jews are not a race as there are no inheritable physical characteristics ...I could be a french jew or a russian jew and share none of the same physical characteristic ..not to mention that I could by conversion become a jew yet I couldnt by the same token become Chinese or black

Forest Whitaker(this guy is a great actor. Very Charismatic too)

Agreed. Generally, Jews are generallized. If you click the link about a list of tons of Jewish entertainers, with your way of putting it, Im sure many if not most of these people on that list wouldn't qualify.

For the sake of the conversation, lets put Jews as a group of people that are dominating Entertainment.

Jews meaning, someone who has descended from a jewish background.

what the hell are you talking about? true there are a lot of us in the northeast... but for many generations? most jews have grandparents and/or great grandparents that were born in russia/europe, which would make it 2 or 3 generations, tops.

Dude... shut up stern. I don't view them as 'black actors'. I view them as some of my favorite actors. This god damn thread is about black actors in part, so i'm praising the fact that many of my top favorite actors are indeed black.

True. But the way Stern was going at it, he was making it sound derogatory. However though. I don't really call black actors black actors. I call them actors. The only times I might bring the color of their skin into question is if i'm trying to identify them to someone i'm watching with. If I can't find a way to signify who i'm talking about on screen by distinguishing them another way, i'll either say 'the white guy' or 'the black guy'.

Still just actors in my mind though.

Part of it will be drive. Most Black entertainers come from poor backgrounds, where education is not considered achievable or affordable. Fame, whether in entertainment or sports, is the most obvious goal. And thats pretty much all it takes, a goal that you think is achievable and the desire to succeed.

Also, in comedy, its perfectly acceptable for a Jew/black to tell jokes based on Jew/black stereotypes. And lets face it, comedy based on sereotypes is usually the funniest, even when we are aware that stereotypes are nonsence.

Also, every horror film needs a black guy to talk "jive" or whatever you kids call it these days, and get killed early on in the movie.

I dont think its racist when we split people up like that. I mean is it alright to say actress vs. actor. I think that is just the same. Its just a method of easy specific identification. I play basketball and I am often the only white one out there, I am not at all offended when someone refers to me as the white kid.

Just felt like saying I hope this is the kind of world that can specify because it doesnt matter since no one is offended.
