the U.S. never went to the moon

It's called common sense. The very faint stars are lost in the not so sensitive film against the very bright surface of the moon (no light is beign scattered by an atmosphere).

But honestly, do you really think NASA would forget to paste stars on the sky in their studio if it was faked? "Geez Ted, I knew we forgot something."

you win this round...

Thats the funniest common sense statement I've heard in a while.

I think Kirovman's got the answer here: Russia.

The space race had Russian 'spies' if you like knocking around NASA, AND equipment that could detect space ships flying about. If there was any doubt on the moon landings validity Russia would have reported.

People just accept it. The US went to the moon. You're country can try for Mars. :P

Haha. The earth just has a huge skybox around it with a dynamic texture.

OMG you bastard, you stole my theory. I posted that months ago!

Except, mine was that only our solar system was real. Everything else beyond it was just a super resolution skybox.

If you want I can dig up the posts to prove it! :-P

They went to the moon.

I saw a news clip a few years ago when some jumped up journalist tried to blag it out with Buzz. Calling him a liar, Buzz knuckled him. any man that does that gets my vote.

they went to the moon fullstop

anyone get this?

We don't go to the moon anymore...

Because there's no point. We found out it's not made of cheese, so it's of no use to us.

But seriously, what do we need MORE moonrocks for?

The moon has been fully explored so there is no need to continure further research. Not to mention it costs sooooooo much freaking money for a moon trip, we cannot afford to waste it. Also, the Russians picked up our radio signals with Apollo 11 as radio signals can be picked up by anyone who listens in. Remember that at the time we were racing the Russians for a moon landing. So if we really never went to the moon then how the hell did we get Russia (our enemy at the time) to admit to having our radio transmissions. They would not lie for us. Anyone who truley thinks we never went to the moon needs to have their heads checked.

To replace the earth rocks we're running out of. :(

I wonder if John and Nick_T feel really stupid now that everyone here has crushed their moon theory with undeniable logic.

These conspiracy theorists put WAY too much faith in the American government. Do you guys really think that the government can pull of a hoax of that size? They can't even deliver the mail right.

I think the reason that people don't believe anyone has gone to the moon is because we can't do it anymore. In this age of progress and technological breakthroughs, it's hard for us to imagine that people did something 40 years ago that we are incapable of doing now.

Not that we're totally incapable of it. We could if we wanted too, but it's pretty expensive.

I dont know that to believe so I dont care

Its possible, but theres not much major evidence for either side

If the US went to the moon, please answer me this one question which really bothers me:

Since the moon has no atmosphere, one should be able to see ALL the stars very clearly and brightly. So,

WHY ISN'T THE SKY FILLED WITH THOUSANDS OF STARS IN ANY OF THE PICS?

Try this...go outside at night (a clear night) and aim the camera up and take a picture...you can even try and take a picture of the northern lights..you won't get them...unless your camera is a time exposure camera.

We choose to go to the moon and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard.

Conversely, we invent conspiracy theories about the moon and other things, not because they are rational, but because science is scary and brain hurt.

But really, this is just more of the same. When you don't understand something, you make a conspiracy theory that wraps the explanation up with no loose ends. This stuff has been going on since the dawn of humanity. Zeus made lightning, the earth rotates around the sun. Etc.

The modern conspiracy theory website is actually just the same basic mythology presented to an audience that is thankfully more knowledgeable than in the past.

Without science and common sense, these were the sort of things that started religions. Thankfully they've been downgraded to just an obscure facet of pop culture.
