Any fans of this classic Experimental Rock band here?

Their debut, The Velvet Underground & Nico, is one of the Top 3 albums of all time, in my opinion.

yeah im a big fan, love them. one of my favorite Rock bands. I saw a documentary about them and it was mentioned that sound engineers/studio hands left the building cos they hated the noise, cant remember what album that was though.

the track White Light/White Heat is one of my favs

Sweet Jane is probably my favourite song.

Heroin is probably my favourite track.

The song Heroin makes my life complete. Also "Waiting For the Man".

Lou Reed is epic and is up there with Bob Dylan as "best solo artist of all time", Velvet Underground is shit

I'm a total amateur when it comes to music, and I can't tell for the life of me why I have '... & Nico' on CD, but I do, and it's a good listen. I particularly like 'Sunday Morning' as an opener.... whilst later tracks break it up with their intensity, it's good music to chill out to. Though I suppose it's an old fallback for exactly that.

Most of the common best of albums are good - although i've actually grown sick of Heroine over the years. Starts great, then goes all emo with the violin. Beginning To See The Light, Rock and Roll, What Goes On, Pale Blue Eyes, Sweet Nothing all float my boat.

yeah totally agree the velvet underground is legit. you should listen to this cover of "i'll be your mirror" by AM Sounds. it hasn't left my ipod for over a week--well worth checking out
