At the risk of being too anime-ish:

Sadly, my knowledge of game music isn't nearly as niche-y as that of non-game music.

Kingpin

Mad Professor Mariarti & Lemmings

I love Mario & Sonic

GTA Vice City & San Andreas

Little Big Adventure Theme.
Deus Ex OST.
Shadowman OST.
Some of the stuff mentioned above.

The Tiberian Sun soundtrack is easily the soundtrack i appreciate the most, it brought the game to life and awakened an enduring admiration for destitute futuristic cityscapes.

Shadow of the Colossus. Hands down the most epic and simultaneously atmospheric soundtrack ever.

Seconded. I haven't even played the game and I've got the soundtrack.

No idea how "American McGee's Alice" and "System Shock 2" haven't been mentioned. Love both of those.

Medal of Honor: Frontline:
Arnhem Knights

Yesyesyesyesyesyes. I mentioned this one in another thread and knew someone would have to bring it up again. Does indeed give me goosebumps everytime.

After the Drop from Frontlines is also good, might be sound particularly dull but it works in the context of the level.

MechWarrior IV Vengeance and Mercenaries - but in Vengeance, in one mission, there's one particulary beautiful music - kinda ambientish and sad, you start with 4 mechs, then hook up with two Uziels, and after that there's massive mech battle by some base, while this sad music plays, and it really builds up the atmosphere, especially if you play at night (in game).

It's probably here:

If someone recognize it, please tell me

The Metal Gear Solid: Sons of Liberty is probably a favorite of mine. I remember the old trailers, with the Russian soldiers fast roping on board the ship and Snake casually walking along the bridge only too well when this song comes on my iPod.

Love it.

Also, Welcome to Rapture from Bioshock. Those strings... whoa. Works best with the actually revealing of the city itself in the intro to the game, but still a fantastic piece of music.

Strange no-one mentioned Driver 3. It's probably the only game soundtrack I listen to regularly.

defs "Still Alive" from Portal

www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6ljFaKRTrI

This was a triumph
I'm making a note here
HUGE SUCCESS
It's hard to overstate my satisfaction
Aperture Science

we do what we must because we can
for the good of all of us except for the ones who are dead
but there's no sense crying over every mistake
you just keep on trying until you run out of cake
and the science gets done and you make a neat gun
for the people who are still alive

I'm not even angry
I'm being so sincere right now
even though you broke my heart and killed me
and torn into pieces
and threw every piece into a fire
as they burned it hurt because I was so happy for you!
Now these points of data make a wonderful line
and we're out of beta, we're releasing on time
so I'm glad I got burned
Think of all the things we learned for the people that are still alive

go ahead and leave me
I think I prefer to stay inside
maybe you'll find someone else to help you
maybe black mesa
that was a joke, haha, fat chance
anyway this cake is great, it's so delicious and moist
look at me still talking, when there's science to do
when I look out there it makes me glad I'm not you
I've experiments to run, there is research to be done
on the people who are still alive

and believe me I am still alive
I'm doing science and I'm still alive
I feel FANTASTIC and I'm still alive
While you are dying I'll be still alive
and when you're dead I'll be still alive
STILL ALIVE, still alive

The Battlefield series has some great music and is my personal favorite.

And of course everything by Westwood and Blizzard tends to have fantastic music all of which I can consider favorites.

All of the music from Jetset radio, Live and learn (sonic adventure) the lobby song from phantasy star online, the opening chorus from Halo, everything from half life 2, everything from every legend of Zelda, The battle song from pokemon... I'm certain that's not all, but for now it's gonna have to be.

I somehow missed this thread, must have been gone somewhere.

However, I was going to post something, but decided to search for an appropriate thread first and this is what I found.

Anywho, anyone else agree that FFX-2 had an amazing soundtrack? I just started playing again after quite a long time. I guess what brought me back was the memories of the soundtrack.

;(

All of these provoke quite a bit of emotion.

This Piano version of a FFX song sticks out as well.

I was compelled to post for some reason.
