They are here...

Predators will win, obvious.

They have a lot of weapons, they know how to hunt and they are stronger than a stick aliens. Yeah ! I'm a predator fanboy ! They rules a lot ! One predator can kill 23497234 aliens without dificult. =*

I have the 2 AVP here and the expansion pack ! Yeahhh ! Rules !

I absolutely adore the universe of Alien and Predators... Really love the soundtrack in the games, and I hope this movie will rock..

From the pics in the clips I could tell that this movie will kik ass, the way that the pics were taken is very pro just like the WASHIWISKY borthers have done to the matrix trilogy.

only the very close closeups from the first teaser are new.. most of the other stuff shown is from the various films, cut together to illustrate AvP. They've jumped too soon IMO, saying this and suggesting that, giving too much away before they are totally sure they can pull it off, I can understand that guy is excited, but still...

I hope it works out though, otherwise thats two of the greatest aliens in movie history ruined. So I hope they can pull this off

If you ever seen the comic book, it's more like Aliens vs. Predators vs. Space Marines. Space Marines and the Predators were almost at a truce fighting against the Alien horde.

For all you that think the Predators will own, think about this. Aliens get their features from the organism they gestate out of. Human born Aliens were tough enough, think about Aliens born out of Predators.

are they cannon? I'm pretty skeptical about things like that. Once the comics and stuff get hold of things they ruin stuff by putting lots of background into it. Predator was fun cause you just didn't know what the hell it was or where it came from. Alien and Aliens and to a far lesser extent Alien3 were fun cause you weren't sure where they came from either.. AvP, Alien 5 and Predator 3 (the last two wont happen if AvP bombs) will more than likely give too much info on them, and spoil them completely. The best part was always never knowing. Once you put a face to the enemy, so to speak, a history, a reason for being and detail on them they lose that special something that made them so good.

I know what you mean, but i think if you create a truly in depth universe, for instance Lord of the Rings, then it brings out something much better than a no face type of guy. If you read the silmarilion, then you find a lot out about Sauron and where he came from, you also find out about the first age and how creatures such as the balrogs came along. It really makes everything so much more interesting once you read the backstory.

........................

Pred Aliens rule. Have you ever been playing Avp2 and had one of those things chasing you. They are big, scary and tough...of course the pretorians are worse but thats a different thing all together.

cheese is the ultimate weapon that would anihilate them all

Stop already. You don't need to bring up the topic of cheese in every thread.

Yeah good point, LotR's wouldn't be what it was without all the history and detail. I'm just a little more worried by cannon info about the predators and aliens coming along, I think after so many years and everyone has their own idea about them, that nobody could successfully come up with a history of what the aliens really are. There's just something about never really knowing, were they a weapon, were they a pest, were they led by a super intelligent creature as an army, so many possible things but you can bet your life that the one you think is the right one, wont be the one that becomes cannon. And probably result in people thinking "is that it?"

Granted I'd love to know where they come from, see their homeworld and stuff in Alien 5. But part of me also doesn't want to know, like I don't want to see x-mas pressies before December 25th heh. I think LotR's gets away with all the in depth info because of how it was originally written, how he did so much to make the characters and world as real as he could. Compared to LotR's the Alien or Predator characters are pretty two dimensional, and the stories not as well thought out (can't believe I'm saying that considering I'm a huge fan of Alien lol) and sometimes I think its cool to leave things open indeffinately, leaving lots of loose ends so the fans can speculate until the cows come home

I guess the same can be said for The Thing. It ended with you not really knowing what happened next, was Childs or MacReady both human, or one of them the thing. Was the Thing really dead now or did a few cells survive. Where did it come from, what really happened at the other base. The great thing about that film is a lot wasn't explained, same goes for the original story who goes there and much later the allen dean foster version. I have a terrible fear that if the sci-fi channel do go through with the mini-series of it, They'll explain too much and The Thing will be ruined completely.

Then there's Half-life (can't believe I just remembered lol) the gman, nobody really knows who he is or what he's upto. Nobody really knows what was going on at BM, and they'll probably be a lot of loose ends in HL2 aswell. Allowing for lots of speculation where the fans can make up whichever version they like the most. Maybe thats why HL was so well loved, you could fill in the blanks how you prefered them to be rather than be told

But yeah, I totally agree that some stories would seriously suffer if left with lots of loose ends. LotR's would have been a terrible book had he not gone into so much detail. It would have been impossible to read too, far too much to guess at if he hadn't done everything for us all :)

oh and yeah Predaliens were pretty nasty weren't they :) though I prefered the original normal aliens, would always give me a great scare when I was in a dark corridor and the motion tracker started beeping.. gotta give those developers on them two games credit for that, they got the feeling and atmosphere from Aliens absolutely perfect

Agree with that. I want the origin of Predators and Aliens unknown, to make it more mystical and such. As H.P Lovecraft said ;" The oldest feeling of all is fear , and the strongest type of fear is fear for the undiscovered and unknown."

yup, got it in one.. and you managed to say what I was saying but in two lines not 3,000 like me, damn you :p hehe

I played Robocop vs. Terminator on the SNES, that game ruled, kinda, although it was a bit dodgy. Wasn't that the one where you could shoot people's arms off which were hanging out of windows?

I faintly, very very faintly remember you could do that on the old C64 or Amiga Robocop game.. But I really could be entirely wrong about that as its been some time.. I do however remember thinking how cool the ED209 looked in those games :)

Maybe I played it on the Amiga. Yeah, I think I did and some Dr. Who game as well.

Dr Who vs the Daleks?

The aliens homeworld was actually found in a short series of books.

We never found out exactly who the Space Jockeys were, though. But the books do mention that they absolutely hate the aliens, for some unknown reason.

I've been waiting to see something on this for sooooo long. I'm stoked, cause the guy directing it is the guy who directed Resident Evil, and i don't care what anyone says....that movie kicked ass. That and he's bangin Milla...*sigh* some people have all the fun.

Yes! Dr. Who vs the Daleks, I loved that game. That really takes me back to when I used to like watching wrestling, Dr. Who and Ghostbusters and I listened to Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley.

YEAH!!! Bout time there's an AVP movie! I should call my friend and tell him about it.
