Things to do when running low of grenades

if you are like me and end up fighting the combine with grenades and therefore run out, don't bother running back and forth looking for them - use the gravity gun to catch grenades out of the air and then fire them back at who ever you are fighting.

also if you end up fighting striders but cannot get to a high roof top, SAVE then runn at the moving leg, this can catapult you up in the air and IF you are lucky you land on a high roof.

p.s. 3.5 days (not constant) - good / reasonable or poor time to complete hl2 on easy?????????

I have never done that, mainly because I rarely use the gravity gun to fight the combine

If I see a grenade landing at my (strangely absent) feet, I run like hell! It would take a lot of effort to reach over to the 'G' button, press it, retract my hand, use the other hand to aim the crosshair at the grenade, right-click, aim up into the air and then left-click. Phew! Hard work! And you only have about 4 seconds to do it. No thanks

You fight a biozeminade as the last boss in the alternative ending of HL2. If you buy a telescope, look out at about 3:56am, GMT, -37.5 degrees from south on a clear night, you'll see biozeminades gracing the skies. Good luck

Ahh good question. If you finish HL2 with 0 damage, the g-man will take you to an extra level where you get to fight them. I would tell you more but that would be a spoiler.

0 damage throughout the entire game. Keep in mind you will need to save a lot as this is most difficult to do.


Well it took me 3 sittings on normal.

We cant show you biozeminade screenshots, because it disables the screenshot taking ability, nor do they show up on digital camera. Gotta do it yourself. No saving or loading either btw.

We hope she lived, but that could only happen if G-man saves her. The biozeminade picks alyx up in the other ending and puts her in his Batmobile, which converts into the biozeminade strike fighter and they fly off to City10 (formally Australia) I dont wanna spoil the rest of the ending for you.

Ah...the Biozeminades...I remember the good ol' days! Back when I was a wee nipper to the forums, asking these questions, getting my wrists slapped and a visit from black-suited gentlemen.

I think Lamarr got back at the same point as you did after the teleport went wrong.

31/2 days is pretty good going. I took a week coz I wanted to savour the experience. Speed runs are getting as low as 2 hours now check out hl2dq .com

Yeah, I've only ever done that once (well, that I can remember anyways), it was during Follow Freeman, I think, and I was trying to save the group of resistance fighters that were following me. It took me a few tries and I think I lost one. :hmph:

For most of the game you have a maximum of 100 armor. It's obvious you haven't played the game so I won't spoil anymore than that. =)

yeah during the last 2 chapters ( i carn't remenmber which) you get dumped into a gravity feild - this destroys all weapons apart from the gravity gun - this gets supercharged and now can grab and toss combine soldiers. at the same point, your hev suit gets double health and charges your regular health up from suit chargers!

Yeah, i am part way through and i cannot get passed this Combine Tank thing - Rockets are fine, but the gun is a pain!

Any Ideas???



P.s. if you use your HEV suit's zoom, you can turn the 9mm hand gun into a sniper rifel (unfortunatly, it means you use more than the standard 1 - 2 bullets to kill a soldier).

wow james you brought back this old thread. Well advice on that tank...you dont need to blow it up, carry on through the tunnel. Avoid the rockets by shooting them down, and weave left and right dodging as much as you can. Then continue forth!

(btw that zoom with the magnum is good, but the hitboxes arent perfect on HL2 so have a high tendency to miss, its really hit or miss, literally )
