Constantly in these last few days I've seen countless posts of people flaming Valve. For example...

"Valve has let us down againt"

"No Media yet? They let us down all the time. Slipping dates is all Valve"

I laugh at these comments and I'm sure Valve do to. Obviously if people think about it for a minute they are releasing a very very important media that will show off a game that is the most anticipated of all games ever made. In my opinion even more so than Doom 3.

This media will be sent to every gaming magazine in the world so they can put it on there cover cd's.

I feel this media will be the main media leading up to the game. There are so many rumours that indicate it will show some video of the very 'secret' multiplayer side of HL2. Maybe even TF2.

So people just wait. And stop flaming Valve. They only want this to be perfect. And I've also heard this isn't a prioity for them? This is wrong. Media like this makes them heaps of money in sales.
 
ya I know. Lets flame valve for spending 5 years on a game and making a piece of gaming history. :rolleyes:

hes right some times certain ppl here are just not acting cool. I mean look at it this way...Half life2 looks super dooper amazing and you love valve for that but than you curse them for being a week late on important media?!?! how dare you. it could also be like this....if valve is so retchid and horrible than you wish them away then who is going to make your amazing game?? no one.

be patient, hope for the best, and try not be to mad at valve. unless they NEVER give us the media....but until someone has proof that they NEVER will, dont be mad at them.

Thanks for the support. Just gets up my nose a little bit with people flaming Valve. This game is going to be so good no matter what. How can anyone find a excuse to flame valve? It beats me.

Yes, that pisses me off. It like they think Valves has to release more pics and videos. Well, in reality, they dont have to release shit tell the game comes out. They are just being kind and testing the abilities of Steam. And all they get is yelled at.
 
the point people are making is simple.

Valve TOLD us when the video would be released, not only did the not stick to this time, but let is slip a further 3 times.

If they have either not told us about the videos or gave us a proper date without slippage time, it would be different.

However, they did tell us and then went against what they said 4 times, its this that has people wound up

Very true.
What's the point in complaining over media. It doesn't belong to us, we don't have a right to it nor do we have to see it.
This isn't our game, it's theirs.

Let them work and be patient for once. I heard no complaints during the five years that we all wanted a sequel but never received a single word of it's existence, and now that we know it's here all you have to say is that you are dissapointed in a WEEK delay, of MEDIA no less.

Stop complaing about the delays too. Blame the bugs and the errors of technology not the company that runs into them. Just incase you all forgot that is why the media hasn't been released.
If the game is delayed by months, then complain, but don't complain over a few videos that are set back a couple weeks for reasons that can't even be controled.

Sh*t happens.

You've already seen it, they don't owe you jack squat, and this is their game, not yours.

Valve told us nothing.

What you were told was this " some dood that works for valve says there is new media coming out today" From some kid on this forum. There has not be any official talk about releasing new media. Dont get mad at valve, get mad at the A$$hole posting bogus info. Its probably a few kids playing a joke and I wouldnt be suprised if there were no plans on releasing new media this early.
 
lol katfude wasent playing a joke, he acctually got a response from erik saying media will be out on friday, they ran into bugs

Let's be realistic. Valve never told "us." At best, they told one or two individuals who mailed them. They never made any sort of official announcement. And they almost always couched it as "this is when we are expecting to do it." There was NEVER any sort of official deadline. It was the people who recieved those emails who chose to post them and spread them publically: Valve never made that call.

Right heres my thoughts, And in no way am i Flaming ValVe..

They spent five long years developing HL2..They kept it from the public totaly. (i feat beond comprehention). So thats no news a total News Black out for 5 years putting it in Laymens tearms.

Now they say right were going to Launch some Media Not officaly just people speaking to Erik J through steam or emails.

My point is Why did ValVe even tell us this if they knew they were going to have problems.?
they should have done what they did with the Game not release any new info untill it was totaly ready.

These are my thoughts on the matter, I just think this needed to be said.!
 
Gooch, who said they 'knew' they were going to have problems?
Obviously if they knew they were going to have problems they would have given a much later release date to those who emailed them.
 
I don't care about the videos.

I care that the game is shipped on time.

Valve has spent the last eight years working their asses off on two games that singlehandedly made them one of the most prestiged developers on the PC, and making us all cream our pants with every drop of gaming goodness they nurture us with off of the teat that is the internet.

People whine about a video being pushed back a week? LOOK AT FSCKING EPIC GAMES. Remember UT2k3? "It's coming out in May." "No, it's coming out in July." "No, it's coming out in August." "No, it's coming out in OCTOBER." You get the picture.
 
My point is why say anything at all untill its ready to go online.

look at the effort they put in answering fans questions via email etc. I think valve go way beyond what should be expected of them. Botton line is if you flame valve, your a worthless piece of shit IMO

VALVE SUCKS! THEY DON"T RELEASE ANY MEDIA! THEY DON"T TELL US ANYTHING! VALVE HAS FAILED US! HALF LIFE 2 IS GOING TO SUCK BIG TIME NOW!!!

Thats flaming Valve, and thankfully I havn't seen anyone do that yet. Seriously though, who cares if Valve hasn't released much media. Does it really matter all that much???
 
Something I've learned over the last couple of years is that people are NEVER happy........about anything. Valve (or anyone else for that matter) could release a game with the ultimate technologies with things like 100% accurate real world physics, laggless online play for even 28.8 modem users, a damage systems so real that the computer kicks you in the package whenever your player gets hit there, and people would still whine and cry and b**** about something. Hell the game could be free and come with a top of the line PC and people would still find something, ANYTHING to complain about. But god forbid a somebody actually listens to its fnas and releses something half finished because people want it now, that's just asking for it (That last comment was actually geared towards mods as I've seen allot of people complaining about them also, no matter how good they are).

I don't think I'll ever see 100% or people being 100% happy with anything ever as long as I live.

I do have to wonder how delays are suddenly Valve's area of expertise. They've been working on HL2 for 5 years. What chances have they even had to delay stuff? So far the media has been delayed, and thats just about it.
(TF2 doesn't count because it never even had a release date.)

Why didnt valve talk about this "Media" AFTER they had it all ready to go? rather than delaying it 2weeks after they promised it?:(

How about "Gabe ran over my dog.. Repeatedly, and then the Valve guys came out and ate my dog's carcass."

That didn't actually happen, but if it did, I think I might be justified in flaming Valve.

Some people just aren't happy about anything and just like to complain I think that's why they do it.

actually ure wrong tfc2 did have a release date it was like erm cant remember exactly but about 3 years ago
