What the hell would they pay the Gman?

Assuming he's some sort of intergalactic/dimensional mercenary service, what the hell would they pay him? What did the resistance pay him?

A suitcase with the Black Mesa logo and some guns and paperwork inside.

Seriously i have no clue. We don't even know his species. Maybe dirt is valuable to his species, i don't know.

mmm.... smores...:bounce: but yea, on topic no one here knows for sure, but maybe small green people?

I would assume that the Resistance didn't really need any sort of regular payment to Government Man to obtain Freeman's services. Rather they probably made some sort of treaty where humanity in the future would have to offer their services to the Government Man's employers. Of course knowing how bad luck is very common, the fine print will ultimately be unfavorable to the human race (unless Freeman and the Vortigaunts have something to say about it). :D

Goodness... the Resistance has his mother? Could you imagine an arguement between those two?

"But mother... Idon'twant to go home... now, I want to stay andplaymore with earth..."

"I... don'tcare... you'regoinghome... now."

I would have to agree that it could be payed in favors and such.

What the hell could a bunch of humans fighting for their lives do to help someone who can stop time and teleport himself?

They can do the lite work and the dirty work that he does not want to show an actual physical involvement with. They can take risks (and losses) that
he does not have to.

"The right man in the wrong place can make all the difference in the world."

They can make enough of a difference to upset the overall balance of power, making it easier for G-Man to accomplish his long term goals.

They didn't pay him anything, they offered him stock options. Much more equitable in the long-term. He also got a spankin' new red tie, didn't you notice?

Seriously though, we don't even know if the resistance did pay him anything. He made a comment about bidders at the end of the game, but aside from Breen mentioning Gordon's "contract," there's nothing that says the resistance paid for Gordon's services.

True, True.

Sechs. That's what the Gman can use, and the resistance has lots of it.

So that's why he wanted Gordon to topple the Combine...to release the suppression field!
