This really cought my attention

I was going threw some papers today and noticed a specific paper I picked up. It had this on it.

One night a man had a dream.
He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the lord.
across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene,
he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand : one belonging to him, and the other to the lord. when the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life. This really bothered him and he questioned the lord about it.
"Lord you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk within me all the way. But the most troublesome times in my life, their is only one set of footprints. I dont understand why when I needed you the most you would leave me."
The lord replied. "My son, my precious child, I love you and would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only the one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.

yeah, they crop up atleast one every two weeks. They get annoying cause there is NO way anyone is gonna be converted by one of them types of post.

Have liked it ever since I first read it. If not for the religious aspect, but for the poetic aspect.

But I really like that piece, it is one of the few reminants of humanity I have left in my heart, before I become a cold blooded communist.

I even have a little glass ornament with that enscription on somewhere.

Yea it is...my grandma has this little ornament that has the same thing on it, just with out the dream part.If I had a digi cam I would take a pic of it...it's kinda old.

You misinterpreted it. Scenes flashed before him. Each scene had two sets of footprints. When he reached the END, he looked back (saw the whole journey instead of a collection of scenes) and noticed in many parts there was only one set.
