This really sucks.

I have put down the full amount for the game and whats this, now a beta is out to be downloaded and i cant even get the copy i paid for..

I might have to wait until APRIL to get it.
Hmmm
Not nice but it could be worse.

Just frustrating, to say the least, Valve really shouldve tried to get the game out the door as soon as possible...seeing as how now, this WILL impact sales, people reguardless what they say or not, will download the beta, play it through and just wont get the game when its out.

I mean the true fans will get it of course, but the casual hl player will just be like, oh cool the beta...and play it and voila, lost revenue for Valve...

Looks like we wont be seenig HL3 for a LOOOONG time.

I feel sorry for valve, but delaying further is the worst thing they can do.

Hope this will be okay.

Cheers!

Yes. It sucks the most gargantuan nuttocks that has faced man before.

They should have got the game out the door as soon as possible

Why? they had no idea that they were going to get hacked

i cant wait until i can do the "i told you so" refer back to my ""who thinks"" post

im switching my money on hl2 to call of duty, since i will most likely have to wait till april, if it comes out sooner, ill put in on visa

"Why? they had no idea that they were going to get hacked"

I know, you misunderstood me but nwhen they learned about the leaked code they should have fixed the most crucial bits then released and patched the rest of the code I thikn thats all..

I think Valve is just pissing off their fans again.
I mean, the delay on the 30/9 was painful, but another delay just less than 2 weeks after ( and for at least 5 months!) would be a bad move by Valve, in my opinion.
I suppose now all the fans that have been visiting these forums every single day since day 1 are waiting for an official Valve conffirmation for this delay announcement, and we are all praying that is just another miscommunication issue between Vivendi and Valve. But if it´s true...it´s going to be really bad for both of them.

Some people is thinking that all this Valve attitude towards their fans and communitity is a good thing, and I agree with that, but don´t you think that all this "no comment" and mouth-shout game they play is starting to piss off all their loyal fans? I truly think they are transforming all the hype in anger, actually.

Apart from all this, the people is saying that the beta is actually far from being finished, and it was for to be released on Sep. 30, so maybe they truly need more time.

Valve is definitely treating their fans like sh*t. There are a hell of a lot of preorders currently in limbo because Valve won't do the decent thing and tell us exactly what's going on without all the marketing spin and other B.S. they keep flinging our way!

So, what, should I keep my preorder and expect the game in the next month or two, or should I use my preorder for another game that's actually out on time?
we are all praying that is just another miscommunication issue between Vivendi and Valve.
Problem is, the last time a delay was announced, it wasn't a "miscommunication".

yeah honestly. they treat us like shit, allowing their system to be hacked and then, to make matters worse, they're fixing it!!

</sarcasm>

loll @ all u dumbies that preorderd this lol ya good job givin them ur money months in advanved for hacklife2 hahh

I do have to chime in on Valve's behalf.
They have put the least amount of "marketing spin" out of nearly any developer ever. They don't brag, and they tell it how they see it.
However because there is no filter, and relations with the fans are direct, this causes conflicting reports and misconstrued statements.
They know when to shut their mouths because anything they say will make it worse.

This has nothing to do with their system getting hacked. We're talking about how they won't just come clean with their fans and tell us exactly what's going on. Is there any chance at all that the game won't be released in 2003? Then just tell us! Are you confident the game will be out in some fashion before Christmas? That'd be nice to know, too.

In other words, this whole attitude of keeping us in the dark just sucks.

I totally agree with Mountain Man, and it is just what I was saying in my post.

I think I´m not the only only one who hates the mouth-shut Valve policy, and that doesn´t have anything to do with hackers.

Valve is one of the BEST game companies in terms of public relations and treating their fans right. Just give it a rest will you. I am sure the valve team really really want to hear your bitching but I dont!
