Let me start off with a disclaimer:

I do not post very often, I just read the forums and don't really have any questions.

But this time I have a statement/question.

Does anybody get annoyed from this stupid Chris_D always making stupid ass comments to people like he's a moderating god? Yeah it gets annoying that people post and repost the same crap, but don't be such a ****ing moron Chris. I hate to say it bro, but if you think people are pathetic who post about secret tests or their opinion on the HL2 release, take a look in the ****ing mirror jackass. You puppydog these forums like it's a game of capture the ****ing flag. So unless someone is posting pornography or something really offensive, sit back and shut the **** up and move on to the next thread.

I give this post about 10 seconds until Chris_D erases it.
 
We'd really prefer that you took up any issues with a moderator by PM to them, so that these indifferences can be worked out. Please think about that for next time.
 
This isn't your forums, jackass. The moderators moderate based upon the rules of the site owner. Which is not you. If you have a problem with those rules... leave.
 
Abom, Asus and Chris D are the only moderators I actually like. There are other, who shall remain nameless, who I think are destroying the forum.
 
I really hate the internet... getting mad at people you can't see and can't do anything about... that's the most frustrating part...

I think Chris_D is a pretty good mod, it would help your case more if you had specific examples\quotes to back it up with.

Well first of all, you should take it in PM. Only because posting a topic publicly like this gathers everyone to the thread to defend this staff member at all costs to prove who's the best brown nose.

Second of all, stop imagining this huge gap between moderators and forum users. They're just like "us" except they have abit more dirt work to do and more responsibilities. They're not gods. Neither are they hostile to everyone, if they were egocentric and evil it'd have been noticed by quite alot of people by now and taken care of long before you came with this statement.

Third of all, Chrissie's a fantastic man and well suited for the staff writer position, you should check his articles out. I like having him hanging around in the HL2 discussion forums, he's always got something good to say. He doesn't deserve your comments.

So please, think before you come with half assed attacks at someone just because you think it'll make a difference.
 
Chris_D is one of the best staff members here and is a leet haxor too :p

I might take on board you comments, but I don't have any idea exactly what you're referring to as you haven't given any examples - nor do I really have anything to take on board, actually, as you've not really said anything constructive.

....back to reality...Chris_D has never posted anything of the bad sort in all the time I have frequented these forums, and often times posts helpful things.....*wipes the brown off his nose

If you think the mods here are bad, then spend a day on most any other forum and then come back.

I've only seen mods making fun of people who really deserve it, the ones who are breaking rules or being stupid, and even then they're being a lot nicer than I ever would. :p

Anyhow, Chris_D is cool. He's one of the few mods that actually is consistently good.
 
I remember the old days when Chris_D wasn't a mod. He was just a guy who replied to every single thread that was ever posted.

Hmm, he seemed like a mod in those days as well.

Personally, I see nothing wrong with him. Maybe you should post and get to know us/mods better, rather than just reading...

technique, he isn't a moron by any means...Chris_D is one of the best moderators of this forum, and if you take the time to get to know him, one of the best people I know... And from the looks of it, the other members feel the exact same way...

So take some time and actually look over these boards, make some more posts, and then pass judgement

And if after all that you still don't like him, well, your loss. There are enough people that appreciate him just how he is, and you know what? We get to be the ones to have the pleasure of knowing him.

So you go ahead and be alone with your anger. I guarantee he will get along just fine without you.

Just so you know, Chris_D is ten times the man you will ever be.

And if you have a problem with Chris_D, you have a problem with me.

Honestly, is there really any need for that?

If you have an issue with me, take it up with me in PM or e-mail and I'll discuss it with you maturely, rather than having abuse thrown at me thanks.

You and technique should be giving me constructive criticism if you want me to change any of my methods or attitude.

There there, i'm just messing with you, but i am angry to see threads closed all the time with a mod's 'final word' sitting at the bottom. For example you or the other mods say something like "i dont really think this needs to be discussed anymore" then you close the thread. If it doesnt need to be discussed anymore, no one would reply. People should be allowed to talk pointlessly all they want.
 
There are more people here that prefer us to kill threads than to keep them going.

Different communities have different preferences and ways of doing things. This community doesn't want idle and pointless talk, that is what IRC is for.

In exchange for having strict rules when it comes to things that have already been discussed recently we no longer have to put up with the innevitable flaming that would occur inside those threads. You can't have the best of both worlds.

EDIT: Oh and Chris_D along with the rest of the mods are all good people in my opinion, and no I am not trying to suck up here. That is just how I feel. :)

And likewise, we can't please everybody, so we try to at least please the majority wherever possible.

And as the praises outnumber the complaints we receive - we appear to be doing a good job of that.
