k I havent really jumped on the bash sony bandwagon that's been in full force since e3 but this is just a rediculous statement
hmm, I wonder if the ps3 can do my banking, input my hydro metre numbers, file my taxes, create a poster that's overdue at work, load up my ipod, download a game trailer from norway, and read the latest article bashing sony?
to be fair, they may allow 3rd party implementation of linux, but it's not for everyone ...seriously sony stop telling us what we can do, and show us instead ..I'm NOT investing $700 on a one trick pony
gamasutra said:Phil Harrison, Sony’s increasingly high profile president of SCE Worldwide Studios, has given an interview to German magazine Der Spiegel, as translated by consumer website GameSpot, in which he has again discussed the concept of the PlayStation 3 as a computer,...
Harrison suggested that the use of the Linux operation system, hard drive and the Cell processor would lessen the importance of the PC as a home media center. “We believe that the PS3 will be the place where our users play games, watch films, browse the Web, and use other computer functions. The PlayStation 3 is a computer. We do not need the PC,” claimed Harrison.
