Make it so that you need atleast like 50 posts to make a thread, due to the recent thread my "ghost3h" or whatever gave me this idea.

That would cause people to post for no reason at all.

I doubt people would spam 50 posts to give away a spoiler. Its harder than you may think, and if they are spamming its not hard to catch on and the mods will take action.

I still recon the best way is to cut off new members till after the release...

Hypothetically it could work, but in reality it's just unfair to those new people that sign up that want to add something to the community. If they have something they really need to say, it's just not fair to make them post 50 times before they can do what they need to. Many people sign up here just to ask a question in the Hardware forum or similar - what about them?

how bout an extensive entry test or something? based on the rules etc

Hhhmmm, well then...

How about an option where we are able to "hide" all posts and threads made by people with less than a certain number of posts (in this example 50). Kinda of like a filter. :D

The new people can still take part in threads, and people who would like to protect themselves from new posters with spoilers can do so. And it could even work as a block for people that we really hate. Like all those "Stupid people" lists in some signatures. We are able to block people in online message systems, why not set up an option for users in the forums as well. (the moderators can't be on block by anyone for security reasons). :stare:

Huh? It could work. A small project for Starmonkey? :p

It's kinda discrimination, but in theory it could work.

...It might.

How about:

Everyone disregards spoilers given as neither true nor false since there is no evidence to back up these claims, and since there is no one at all who has played through the game and discovered the true storyline?

All 'spoilers' are ASSUMPTIONS FROM RANDOM DIALOGUE or just made up rubbish.

Uh oh, a headcrab!

j/k

The problem is that the script has been leaked and I don't know whether or not it is truely just random or if it is structured. Either way, I would not like to find out from morons who come in to these threads to just reveal these spoilers to an unsuspecting public.

Valve have stated that the files won't be changed (hence the preload). The diologue will remain unaltered and as such are indeed spoilers. I have been a victim, and I don't want any more of the game ruined, no matter how random the script appears to be.

don't the mods see the new post/thread before its on the site?
