This is a list of the games coming out that every single one of you should purchase. Atleast, it's a list of games that I will be purchasing. In specific order:
1. Half-Life 2:
The continuation of the infamous journey of Gordon Freeman. Featuring the new "Source" engine created by Valve featuring a VERY impressive array of effects. Direct x 9 at its finest.
2. Thief (3):
Garret, the man, the theif. Not much needs to be said, this is some sick shit here people. Sneaking around a medievil castle taking out gaurds with a handfull of broadhead arrows in one hand and your blackjack in the other. Being made on the 'Vanilla' Unreal Tech engine featuring dynamic lighting ala Doom 3, I'm really looking forward to this sucker.
3. FarCry:
Wow, such enviorments. Miles of openess, vehicles, non-scriped AI. Amazing. The graphics are very incredible aswell, being developed on it's own engine, it looks very impressive and is set in a jungle atmosphere on exotic islands. And sporting vehicles and ragdoll to boot.
4. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.:
Original. A 'russian' themed first person shooter taking place in 'The Zone'. A radioactive, post apoctolypic scene. Mutated creatures and a dynamic weather system in a world filled with hunters. Various groups control differant parts of the zone as you try and survive in this world. Amazing vehicle physics...
5. X2 The Threat:
An amazing looking space flight game. Holy shit. It's insane. The graphics along with the gameplay, which, anything like the first, will be incredibly deep. It's also the only space flight sim with dynamic shadows.
6. Deus Ex 2:
The first one was a player-controlled twisting adventure of imagination and development. Allowing the player to creep, or blast his way through the game using an impressive array of skills. Also using the 'Vanilla' Unreal Tech engine.
7. Soldner:
Solder, aka Mercinary, is a Operation Flashpoint/Battlefield 1942 hybrid. Featuring destructable terrain and randomly generated out door areas, I'm greatly attracted to this masterpiece.
8. Doom 3:
Being made on the Doom 3 engine, it's also a heavy contendor. Featuring dynamic lighting and insane bump mapping, it's sure to make you shit your pants. Running in a complex filled with zombies and demons, make sure your clip is full.
Feel free to comment on any differances you have with your own, personal "Top Games List". Wether it be order, or a totally differant set of games or even a game here.
