Well if you play Freespace 2 there never is the issue of games having ships on a horizontal plane. It's kind of dissorienting actually to be in the midst of some capital ships attacking in formation but they're upside down/diagonal compared to the ship they're attacking. Makes things really interesting and tactics for avoiding beam cannons, etc.
