nots so much as a tutroial more piece of advice.

when you get yourself stuck in a situation where your not quite sure how to create a particualr object it help to free hand draw on paper it gives you a better idea of how the shap is created. I use this for gas chambers on weapons all the time and it helps a lot.

You'll have to create an account and then login with it to access the tutorials, but it's definately worth it. There are literally hundreds of hours worth of tutorials there, ranging from beginer to advanced level.
 
keep in mind that anything dealing with rendering and materials probably won't help anyone with game stuff.
 
Anyone got a link on how to get your textured model from 3dsmax 6+ into CS/HL2 maps?

I found a good page that included the directory structure and everything, but I can't find it anymore :(.
 
hey everyone...
im a complete and utter n00b!
ive been playing CS since 1.6, and got source ages ago :D
i dled tons of skins and maps but nvr realy thought about doing it myself...
now i do and i have to clue in hell wot to do, i have been readingup in these forums, but i hav no idea wtf everyone is on about.
i just wanna make my own weapon skins/models and possibly maps for CS:S not HL2


can sum one help? please.. it wud be greatly apreciated. :thumbs:
 
damn so many of these links are dead :(

Has everything to do with game mods died away or something? been playing WoW for 2 years and ive finally quit it.
