U.S. to take control of space :)

Where the hell did that come from?I didn't even say anything about equality...Dumbass...

It's rather simple. I said that the constitution gave everyone equal status in theory. You responded with "h4w h4w you must be zealous" as if the constitution actually gave everyone equal status and was therefore a subject of envy.

No...I was saying you was jealous cause I noticed that your always flaming the US.So again...you must be jealous.

blahblahblah...the world will end before HL2's release! Tell VALVe to hand out the retail copies now so we can play before the end!!!111!

Of course they would do this. Haven't you heard of those Russian satellites that take pictures of Area 51?

Oh noes...wait..

*tinfoil hat*

Have you heard of the many of thousands of request from the general public to take pictures of the site using commercial topology satellites. The Government hasn't rejected their ability to do it.

Anyway, they have pulled out of Area 51, they have moved their operations to Black Mesa ;)

Actually if I remember correctly from some stories that they actually did pulled out and moved there operations to some base in Utah.More than likely fake tho...

So the Soviets built a bomber, they stole from America, who stole the design from the Soviets :|.

No. Listen.

The Soviets, DESIGNED a bomber. The plans were stolen. The US shortly after designed a plane EXTREMELY similar (Too similar) to the Russian design. Called the B-29.

Whichever dumbass posted about the B-29 crashing in USSR didn't even read my ****ing post.

I can see that you aren't very bright. But it's probably genetics, so it isn't your fault.

Yes, But I believe your gun to person ratio is somewhere along the lines of 10 guns per person.

That might be wrong, I'm just pulling this off the top of my head.

hahahah they are claiming space....
2+2 is 4 people! its bloody well 4!

I don't even consider us European really, because we don't get along with most of the countries in Europe, in fact, most countries in Europe dislike each other immensely, which is probably why nothing ever gets done concerning the European Union and Constitution.

Everyone make's sweeping generalizations on this site, didn't you know? More than often they have no idea what they're talking about.

I think CNN reported the fact that America were putting a satellite into space to jam enemy radio signals wrongly, America aren't going to "control space" as such, for instance it's very unlikely that countries such as Russia or China will have to ask U.S. permission to send their Astronauts into space, it's just home defense I guess (and I can tell you if America tried to place those sanction's on either of those countries you can imagine the uproar).

America don't "own" the moon either, There's (supposedly) an American flag up there somewhere, but that doesn't mean the U.S. owns the moon.

This jamming satellite is nothing, Bush is soon going to deploy "SDI", which is basically a space based weapon designed to destroy missiles... this has two major effects. First, the US will no longer be threatened by nuclear attacks, meaning if they decided to launch a nuclear attack on another country they could do so without retalliation (the only reason Russia and the US didn't fire on each other during the cold war was because if either of them did, the other would do the same and both would be devastated). Secondly, it basically gives them a weapon they can point at anything, anywhere on or around the earth. Considering how, with Iraq etc, they basically said "do as we ask or we'll invade".... well with this they'll be able to say "do as we ask or we'll attack you from space and there's nothing you'll be able to do about it".

This system pretty much will give the US control of space (the space around earth, anyway) since they could use the system to take down any satellites they wanted, like Russian spy satellites.

I wrote a big thread about this just a few hours ago.... what the heck happened to it? It no longer exists, why was it deleted?

What does SDI use to shoot down other missles?I'm guessing it to uses missles...

Edit: correction - It does include laser based weapons, even now.

So yeah, it's a combination affair, a system that includes missiles, ground based and space based lasers, and various other things.

a gient magnifying glass in space.... holy crap that is SUCH A COOL idea!!!!!!!

I don't think it uses that type of laser...maybe a chemical one?I'm probally wrong tho...

dude... the magnifying glass... it all makes sense... melt the french from orbit!

That actually is a good plan.... :naughty:

Such lasers have already been built and tested.. A system called "MIRACL" (a ground based laser) has been tested in tracking and destroying airborne missiles, and it was also used to destroy a satellite (it was a US satellite, destroyed for testing purposes). Laser weapons aren't sci-fi anymore.

Hmmm...Another country will probally come up with something to shoot it down or do something similar to SDI.

Bunch of emotional reactions here... without even questioning the way the information is being presented to them.

LOL no wonder Hitler said "What luck for rulers that men do not think."

US CONTROLS SPACE OMG

PSSST We didn't even land on the moon!

and a plane never hit the Pentagon!!!!

ROTFL

And what'll stop the Russians or the Chinese from putting one up as well? As far as I am aware the only program still running in Russia is the space program, hell their people don't get Russia's money so someone or something must. Even the North Korean's have a space program. Trust me, the United State's won't be putting missile launch pads in space withount 1) An Uproar from the international community or 2) Someone else putting their own launch pad in space, another arms race could esculate.

America aren't exactly making themselves seem trustworthy or look better in the eye's of the international community if they're going to be putting launch pads in space, and it certainly won't help world stability. In essence by America doing this we all lose out in a way. Also America's main enemies are Terrorist's at the moment, I'm not sure what country with the exception of North Korea is actively developing a nuclear weapons program, now if a Terrorist get's hold of a nuke chances are they'll detonate inside a city and not actually launch a missile.

Any attacks on Space Satellite's could also easily result in an all out war, and if that happens, well, we all lose again.

damn ... htat is pretty sweet ... i guess U.S. owns everyone again? damn .........

No it's not "sweet", it's deeply worrying in my opinion that the U.S. feels the need to put these satellites in space. Personally I don't think the American leaders are bright or mature enough to handle the amount of power they hold. It's really sad that even after all this time since the cold war, and there's no really aggressive country left in the planet, just terrorists, that the U.S. still feels the needs to develop weapon programs. Also it'll be Tax Payers money that go to buy these weapon systems (and they won't be cheap), wouldn't you prefer that money to go on Education and Public Services instead of weapons?

Countries still hold grudges against each other...and yes there is many aggressive countries. They may hide it...but it's like a powder keg waiting to explode.

I've read that SDI is expected to have costed abount 62 billion dollars by the time it is deployed. Not cheap indeed.

And you know this, for sure?

Personally I don't see any individual country with the exception of North Korea (which I believe should be dealt with by the United Nations and the International Community, not just the U.S. alone) that is really a threat to America's national security.

The Russian's don't really care any more, Putin has no interest in starting a war with the U.S. and I suppose most Russian's have moved on, they're a republic now remember. China? Big Army, but not very technologically advanced, sure you wouldn't want to fight them on their own soil but I doubt they'll be declaring war on anyone any time soon.

It's that kind of suspicious mentality that compromises the pursuing of peace on a day to day basis, we need to change people's mentalitys concerning weapons in order to make the world a safer place. America "owning" space will do anything but make the world safer, I even have doubts whether it'll even make America safer!
